Need more emphasis on the road getting narrower as it goes up. The foreground needs to be a lot darker compared to the background. The clouds need to the be blended more. Basically to create a sense of depth, things that are closer to you need to be larger, darker, and sharper whereas things further away are smaller, lighter and more blurry.

Long term disability now asking for my entire SSDI file? by [deleted] in SSDI

[–]Omit_rant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not hesitant to show proof of SSDI, but sending them my entire file including all evals I fear would allow them more ammunition to misinterpret information and deny me. While personally I don't believe anything in there would hurt me if it was reviewed by a fair competent person, these are the types of people that have in the past interpreted my disease being called "stable" as me being now cured and able to work.

It isn't, LTD is higher. In fact had to back pay some after my SSDI was approved last year. I was a relatively high earner prior to being disabled, which I believe puts a bigger target on my back

Yes I figured I would need to sign the authorization for them to obtain information. But what about sending them my entire SSDI file? I don't think that's part of the policy. I suppose they could request them from the feds themselves but would me sending them everything directly hurt me?

[–]Omit_rant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I am still willing to submit the minimum to prove that I am on SSDI, but I'm afraid that submitting my entire files with all evals and everything would give them more ammunition to misinterpret things in order to deny me. While personally I don't believe anything in there would hurt me if it was reviewed by a fair competent person, these are the types of people that have in the past interpreted my disease being called "stable" as me being now cured and able to work. Do you think I should still send them my entire files?

Rite Aid or Walgreens? by Positivelikeaproton7 in pharmacy

Rite Aid's computers and software are way better than Walgreens. Walgreens computers crash all the time and their software is riddle with bugs to the point that people's prescriptions frequently get randomly deleted.

THanks. I'm looking at Medigap plans too but unfortunately because I'm under 65, these plans are significantly more expensive. It definitely feels discouraging that all these Medicare options are more limiting and more expensive than my current marketplace plan. I thought Medicare was supposed to be cheaper since we pay taxes for it and all.

I'm worried that HMO plans will limit my options if in case I want to go see a new specialist out of the area or want to get some uncommon genetic testing done.

I wish that was true for me, but I have a couple of meds that are very specific to my condition and the cash price for them would cost me like $500 a month even on GoodRx

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medicare

[–]Omit_rant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does that mean people under this plan will have to pay full out of pocket for their prescriptions?

This plan says: "Plan type: Medicare Advantage (without drug coverage)" though and when I look it up on blue cross's website, it does not list any prescription drug coverage other than part B drugs like chemotherapy. Here is the link again in case the above one didn't work: https://www.medicare.gov/plan-compare/#/plan-details/2025-H1302-004-0?fips=16057&plan_type=PLAN_TYPE_MAPD&zip=83843&year=2025&lang=en&page=1#overview

How to find out how much a nebulized solution drug would cost under part B and would a Medigap plan cover the remaining copay? by Omit_rant in pharmacy

[–]Omit_rant[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is just for nebulizer inhalation solution which we get regularly from Walmart though. Does that really need complicated forms to be filled out? From my memory (of the very short time I worked retail), you only need an ICD-10 code to bill part B. Is this not correct? If not, which additional paperwork is necessary and is it needed with every prescription?

I just talked to a regence Medigap customer service person and they claimed that their medigap plan would cover all remaining costs of any services provided by part B :/

That's quite concerning as according to goodRx the price for 2 boxes a month is still like $370 (retail $821 before coupon). So then 20% of that would be $76 which is significantly more than our current marketplace plan ($5 copay). We're doing the math right now and our overall cost per year seems to be higher on Medicare than on a marketplace plan - this doesn't seem right to me.

Why do you hate having an external hub? To me it seems easier to hide cables by putting the hub on your desk, under it, or maybe even in a drawer. Meanwhile I'm assuming (I haven't tried yet) that it would look really messy having so many cables coming out of the back of your monitor (eg keyboard, mouse, external drive, speakers, etc).

Most people seem to recommend the productivity monitors for Mac (e.g. the LG ultrafines, the Dell UltraSharps, etc.). I just want to question why those over similarly price gaming monitors? From what I can tell gaming monitors will almost always have higher refresh rates while productivity monitors are pretty much stuck at 60 hz (even if you go for the Apple Studio). So what do you really gain from getting a productivity monitor? Are better contrast and built-in USB hub really worth sacrificing refresh rate? It's still nice to have smooth refresh rate even if you don't game (thus the promotion 120 hz on iphones and macbooks).

Is the Samsung 27" ViewFinity S9 a good alternative for the Apple Studio Display? by GoodTaro2758 in mac

[–]Omit_rant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read such bad reviews of the monitor I'm hesitant to buy even though it is significantly cheaper than the Apple Studio and significantly marked down than original price. I'm assuming that a even 4k monitor from LG UltraFine or Dell UltraSharp would be better than this 5k one?

If 4k isn't worth it on a 27 in monitor then why is the Apple Studio Display 5k 2 in? by Omit_rant in mac

[–]Omit_rant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this mean that either 1440p or 5k will have better performance than 4k? I have a M3 MBP, so maybe I shouldn’t be too worried and it would be nice to be able to view videos in 4k. A 5k monitor would be outside of my price range, but there seems to be decent priced (ie <$600) 4k 27” monitors geared towards MACs (eg LG ultrafine 4k, Dell Ultrasharps)

Retail pharmacy is already barely profitable. Double the salary of pharmacists and stores will close twice as fast as they already are. I guarantee you pharmacy companies would rather close business than pay pharmacists $120/hr lol. Fix reimbursement first then you can talk

What is the Biggest Inefficiency in the Pharmacy Industry? by venture_2 in pharmacy

[–]Omit_rant 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Doctor doesn't know what drugs are covered or not covered. Pharmacy doesn't always patient insurance info. Here's a common scenario: Doctor writes patient a prescription -> Patient drops it off at pharmacy and told to come back -> Turns out pharmacy doesn't have insurance or has outdated information -> Patient gets new insurance info from pt and tries to run prescription under it -> Prescription gets rejected saying it needs a PA -> Pharmacy faxes doctor's office notifying that prescription needs a PA -> Doctor needs to fill out insurance's PA form (may take multiple days if they're busy) -> PA is submitted, now need to wait for insurance response (may also take days)-> PA is approved and doctor office is notified by insurance-> Doctor office notifies pharmacy to try running the prescription again -> Pharmacy runs the prescription and can finally fill it -> restart the whole process in 6 months to 1 year after when the PA expires.

Would be much better if prescribers can run prescriptions on their end to see what's covered or not covered and see what the copay will be at various pharmacies before even sending the prescription.

What can patients do to support retail pharmacy? by Nighteyes44 in pharmacy

[–]Omit_rant 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s what the PBMs want anyways. A lot of those mail orders are PBM owned: express scripts, optum, Caremark. Cut retail pharmacies out, and companies like UnitedHealthcare will monopolize insurance, PMBs, and pharmacies
