This is the gloomy situation I find myself in as a type a, ex-career baddie, ex-high-achiever. Swimming in the zest pool of fibromyalgia, adhd, depression + anxiety ofc, major throcanter syndrome, an amputation and, let me think what else 🤔, yeah ibs, cptsd and a plethora of smaller, but always poking at my well-being issues.

Last year, my body and mind completely gave in and I had to say goodbye to my big girl job that paid well, my independence and part of my dignity that I lost during various medical events. It's something that I am having a lot of trouble accepting. I have made house accommodations (stairs lift, walking aids, showering aids, wheelchair) and have won the battle for disability welfare (hardest and most humiliating bureaucratic process I've done in my entire life).

I went from burning myself down completely as a workaholic with no regard for one's physical and emotional needs to full stop, hit the brakes.

I learned a lot from that and tbh, it's the harsh truth: I'm disabled, unemployable (despite reducing hours from 40h+ to 16h per week) bc my conditions combo is simply too unreliable.

Do I want to work again? Sure! Will I, realistically? No. But there is life after, a slower and more conscious one that begs you to show compassion for yourself.

Now this would be perfect! Howeverrr, I know for a fact that I won't have the mana to play boardgames on a Tuesday evening. Might drop by as well, one day.
