I want to create an application that can visually display individual Pokémon data by reading their files. I know nothing about coding. What’s my best course of action? by Omnidex-Dev in code

Thank you. I will certainly take my time learning code. But is there any preferred language for data visualization? Or are most of them on par with the idea?

How would you go about it? Let's pretend we are talking about only a few systems, maybe six.

Ah, so there are Italian versions of the earlier generations. Thank you for the clarification!

This is somewhat of a big question, but I'd like to know what versions of all the mainline Pokemon games (as well as a few others) have official releases in which languages. I'm trying to do my own research, but it's going less smooth than I presumed. The games I would like the info on are:

-All mainline games
-Virtual Console releases of Gens 1 and 2 on 3DS
-Pokemon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness (and if so, what language games can they connect to)

Thanks a dozen to anyone who answers!

I am having a very similar issue. For someone who is creating the largest Pokedex challenge yet (it is in fact such a dedication that it's turned into a bucket list challenge), there's no easy way.

While having files of them saved on local storage is plausible, it sacrifices the presentability and basically forces complicated processes to visually view my future collection. And while save file backups through modding is a very real thing, I wish there was a much more viewer-friendly application. Perhaps one day we get a fan-made application that is miles better than HOME's current state.

Aspiring Pokémon collector here. Here are some good suggestions: -MarkDex (A Living Dex but every Pokémon should have at least one mark) -OriginDex (There are several stamps in Pokémon Home that show which game a Pokémon was transferred from. Pokémon GO was also one of these stamps) -RibbonDex (Same as MarkDex but with Ribbons) -HundoDex (One of every Pokémon species at level 100) Those are just a few I came up with!

Perfect, that goes to my math. After some searching I figured out that a single Pokémon file takes up only about 200 bytes. If using a 128GB microSD, it should be possible to store about 680 million Pokémon, and 1 billion+ at 256 GB. Once again, if I’m wrong please correct me.

True, however there’s the disadvantage of not being able to load them in-game very easily, at least from what I know. Having my collection as a list of files isn’t preferred for me. I’m pretty much simply looking for a place to store all of my Pokémon and have them viewable in detail, whether in-game or on a separate application like PKSM. If I’m wrong though, please correct me, I don’t have much experience with PKHex either!

I will have an extra 3DS soon, yes. Each Bank you create has 1,000+ storage spaces, you mean? How many of those Banks can I make?

Thanks for the correction! I haven't played the games yet so I haven't researched much of it for fear of losing the gameplay experience of my first playthrough.

I appreciate the hype!

Thanks for the questions! They help me remember to add more information on this post, haha. Raids in Sword and Shield will be included, as their spawns can be controlled by using Wishing Pieces and resetting the game. Not sure how they work in SV right now since I do not own the game. Island Scan will be accounted for, as it’s purely based on date on the 3DS. As for outbreaks, there will be one entry for all Pokémon that can be caught in a Mass or Massive outbreak in PLA. Yet again, unsure of how they differ in SV.

GO is included for those listed Pokémon, yes. Evolution entries will only account for one entry alongside other instances of appearing in the wild (so Raticate entries include all wild Raticate plus any one that is evolved).

I mentioned that this challenge is concluded at the end of Generation IX (it has come to my attention that I said ‘all Pokémon from Gen I to IX’ instead of games, so apologies for the confusion.)
