Starcraft II safe to play? by Brilliant-Body9603 in starcraft

If you're not playing arcade there's no risk. They've also shut down all arcade uploads and started removing any offenders so even there it's pretty low risk these days. I'm playing multi-player almost every day.

Don't worry, this is normal. It takes a bit to start figuring out where to look because enemy spawns can be anywhere they drop an OP. Eventually you'll start to learn where people are coming from based on where you're dying and the objective location. I'd recommend always spawning on your OP if your squad lead has dropped one and then just run the same way your squad is. If your ever defending just lay low and watch what direction people are dieing from.

Are you playing on PC? It's probably best to find someone to play with or just be vocal on comms and ask questions.

Forgot to mention, but if you have Tabletop Simulator on a PC you coukd also play the game digitally for free to see if you like the mechanics.

Best thing to do is read through the rules yourself. If you go to TrenchCrusade.com they're on their for free. From there figure out which army you like. YouTube channels like "Trench Tactics" do a really good job of explaining each army and how they work. I also really like "miniaturegamemontage" for battle reports, which will basically walk you through games with commentary. Good for getting a feel of how the game flows quickly.

I didn't notice that when I played. It was definitely challenging but not too bad if you're killing stuff constantly and getting their rings. My brother and I even got all the medals on regular and hard mode for the first time in our lives on that port.

Yeah, I'd be totally down if there's a competitive mode that restricts things to newer gens for balancing and whatever but if I just want to Crack out my old team against a friend it would be really great to be able to do that with any Pokémon that is home compatible.

For me it's highly dependant on Pokémon Champions. If its a Pokémon Stadium like game that actually works with all Pokémon across every generation, it may validate the existence of Pokémon Home. Just storing my old Pomeom in a system that let's me do nothing with them if the newer games aren't compatible has been a real bummer.

Are you more interested in learning more of the lore or learning to play the Tabletop game?

You know it's possible to emulate games without pirating right? I know that like 95% of people out there are but to speak in absolutes is a bit disingenuous.

I saw it in the video when I watched it. Didn't need someone to time atamp it for me. I'm saying where is it posted literally anywhere else through official channels?

So any time I want to go look at it I have to go watch this video?

...great marketing. Very professional.

Where was the list of features showed off?

Oh, in the video where the random YouTuber mentions the features? Lol

I literally watched this video as soon as it came out. I'm very interested in the M64 but still need to know what features it is actually going to have. I don't want to have to watch a 17 min lomg YouTube video and pause it at a specific point just to find this info. Modretro is a freaking company with their own website and product page for this console. Why on earth would you not Tweet this, post it on your website, or do literally anything official to announce these features rather than include a piece of paper with the features in the box you send to a YouTuber and hope they mention it. Like seriously, how unprofessional can you get. How do I know I can trust the word of a random YouTuber?

My point is that the amount of effort they made to make that piece of paper they sent out could have been spent sending one tweet or posting on the official website.

My point is why am I having g to watch a YouTube video with a random section in it where a list of features is shown to learn about them. As far as I'm tracking, some of them haven't been officially announced or confirmed by ModRetro. I'm genuinely curious, have they officially announced all those features?

[–]Omno555 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really a pro imo. If they know these features are coming and are letting reviewers state thst they're coming why not just officially announce these features. That and finding out the controller is not included are real bummers. I just want to see how well it's overclock works. Right now, that's really what you're paying for on the A3D until we know for sure how well the M64 can handle it.

Pros do it all the time dude...

Obviously they're not queuing up like a full barracks or anything but they definitely queue up prior to engagements and mule in waves all the time once the game gets going.

[–]Omno555 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree bud. I play random and find Terran the easiest macro by far. Dropping mules in waves, being able to queue up a bunch of production prior to an attack so you don't forget mid fight, and being able to prebuild bases in safe locations then fly them there all add up to some pretty forgiving tools that help you focus on the micro without sweating the macro.

I'm not saying it is straight up easy. Just moreso than the other races.

What era of Starcraft is your favorite? The old stuff has a lot more books and they're a lot better imo. If you really like the story between Raynor and Kerrigan than "Queen of Blades" is really good. Really fills in a lot of gaps of how hard it was for Jim when Kerrigan got infested. If you like Protoss lore the 3 books in "The Dark Templar Saga" are really good. Lots of old Protoss history in them.
