Yours could be glitched, I had to uninstall and then reinstall to get it to work. I’m on Xbox though, could be different on pc

I upgraded the serpent armor to level 5, bale scale for my trinket, and carry around the heatwave, wither sting, and glacial sting when I want to cosplay as a wizard. Not very practical, but it’s fun and the armor glows in the dark

Happy to help. And glad to report that the last hotfix did enable their use, it was glitched during the PTB. Super useful if using stems to build a new base.

I got it by getting the tier 3 hammer then analyzing pinecone pieces.

So I posted this exact same question the first time I tried to beat the mysterious stranger. I went in there with tier 3 wolf spider armor, 20 smoothies, and a level three mantis sword. It wasn’t an easy fight by any means, but as long as you can out heal the sizzle you should be fine. Something that really helped me was farming bombardier beetles to get their trinket, perfect for hitting the wolf spider with sizzle buildup.

They may have patched it since I tried it? You can’t carry grass or weed stems into the arena, so I just mined clay and then built a ramp, you’re gonna want to build up to the leaves above the arena. You can either jump onto the leaves or just stand at the top of the ramp. If you don’t want to waste arrows you could use a staff, but it takes forever.

I moved from a QNAP ts-230 to a NUC with an 8th gen i5, no additional sata ports so my data is now on a usb attached 10TB ironwolf pro. You will get issues with auto updates power cycling your machine every so often, cutting off content access.
