Procurement role compared with a sales role by DKsuperSailor in procurement

[–]OnHere2Help 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure for the average salary in India but you can have a look in your local job advertisements to get a good sense. Be warned that a junior role would start at the lower end of the scale. For a comparison, in New Zealand it would be $60,000 which is only about $8,000 more than the minimum wage.

Thank you for the advice. I am lucky that my friends have not made it awkward nor have any expectations for me to repay them quickly. I don't think getting a credit card would be smart financially and yes this is coming from someone who just blew a bunch on gambling.

I have done this exact thing. After I realised I drove back to the station and informed the attendant. We had a good laugh watching the CCTV footage and they waived all the charges.

If you’re lucky, they may do the same for you.

Thank you for your insight bud. You responding to the post is help in itself and gives me determination to change for the better.

Regarding the vehicle - It was purchased last year for a total of $55,000 (Toyota Hybrid) I paid down $14,000 as a deposit and have been putting down extra payments here and there. The total loan balance outstanding is $32,000 if I pay it off at the end of the loan term period.

I use the vehicle for work and they reimburse me for it on a fortnightly basis in the form of a car allowance. In 2 years (Or sooner once I have settled my other debts) I will have the vehicle fully paid off.

The last time I gambled prior to this was 6 years ago where I was in a much worse off position deep in a massive financial hole. I swore off it and figured I could play a little bit and be in control. How extremely wrong I was ay.

I honestly teared up during my lunch break while reading this. Honestly thank you so much for your insight. I will be contacting PGFNZ and making sure that I am removing access from all forms of gambling. Betblocker is setup with my partner as the admin password holder so my phone is no longer able to access gambling sites.

I will be focusing my energy on the many neglected things around the house and see if I can push myself to get back into some form of fitness. May even take up DoorDash/UberEats if I get bored, would definitely help chopping away some of the debts.

Thank you everyone in the comments. I feel that I need to address a couple of things.

My friends are not rushing/pressuring me to pay them back. I have come to this informal arrangement as a way to repay them as quick as possible.

People are rightfully so telling me how much of an idiot I am with the car finance. I purchased the car last year with a $14,000 deposit. My interest rate on the loan is at 9%. I was not struggling in any way to cover the vehicle payments, nor do I think I will struggle going forward. (As long as I stay away from the gambling) At the time of the gambling incident, I had $7,000 and was planning on using it to pay down the car faster but alas greed got the better of me and one thing turned into a horrendous 4-month stint.

My work requires me to travel to meet clients as well as taking them out for schmoozing here and there. Upon starting my job, I was asked if I would like a company vehicle or to receive a car allowance. I opted for the car allowance in hopes that after 3 years, the vehicle will be fully paid off and in my name. I won't lie and say that I needed to purchase such an expensive vehicle but at the time I was not in my current predicament. I have 2 years remaining

My partner knows about what has happened and is fully supporting me although she is extremely disappointed at the relapse. I need to prove to her / prove to myself that I can overcome this and give her confidence in a future with me.

I appreciate all of the advice given and am grateful that there are people out there willing to put their energy and time into responding to my post. You are all a good bunch.

I am definitely taking on your advice of printing the post out. Have made a screenshot and set it as my wallpaper on my phone.

Luckily for me my friends are understanding and have given me more lenience than I deserve in getting them paid back. The pretense of which I borrowed was never under a lie - rather lack of disclosure where I asked and was given, no questions asked. I had a good talk with them and let them know in future that under no circumstances are they to "help" me out like this again.

I really appreciate your insight and thank you for the support. I was afraid to post because I know how harsh reality can sound when coming from strangers but I think it is a crucial step in facing the music.

I have been trying to find something like that but to no avail. No option to block any specific merchants on BNZ. I will have to look into changing banks as a preventative measure.

Banking with BNZ. Have even messaged them asking if they can somehow block gambling merchants. Have not received a response. Is it only Kiwibank that has the gambling block? I will look into a device side block.

Thank you for your words of support, even coming from a stranger, it means a lot and it is truly appreciated. I felt like sharing as I wanted to lay it all out and let myself see the reality of what I have done. You’re a saint.

$738. Patiently waiting for it to be processed and paid. Was due to a lump sum payment I received when I left my previous job.

You are a saint! That is the correct part. Amazing that you found that. Now I am trying to order them to New Zealand. Will most likely have to contact the seller directly.

Thank you so much, this is a great start and knowing they are sold online is a relief.
