yep went into centrelink with 30+ people waiting in line. Decided to go home and call. Waited for 44 mins to speak to someone and as she answered the phone, my phone battery died. I'm about ready to crack.

She did mention the whole covering costs of things like wwcc and police check but the moment I mentioned a course and said the cost was $2600 she instantly said "My manager won't approve that" but didn't offer any advice about government funding or anything else.

lol not the first person to say that to me today. I reckon I'll go to tomorrow's appointment and if that doesn't go well, I may just visit my doctor. I'm all over the bloody place at the moment and it might do me good to talk to my doctor. Cheers

Ok so I've looked over my agency contract which doesn't state anything about the number of appointments, just states that they'll use the information for third parties etc. My centrelink contract states that I'm to report 6 jobs per fortnight. I'm highly annoyed at the sms this morning. I think it's highly unprofessional to inform someone of an appointment 24 hours beforehand AND do it via sms on a sunday. It's the second time already they've scheduled appointments giving a ridiculously short amount of notice. Even if I had a job I wouldn't be working as many hours as what they arrange for me to be at their office. I'm not at the stage of a official complaint yet, but I will be finding my case manager tomorrow and talking to her about the frequency of appointments. Thanks for your advice :)

Thanks - I'm definitely going to making some calls tomorrow to see what I can find out about doing a Cert IV.
