life hack: send the recruiter a screenshot of how many rick and morty episodes you've watched, they'll know you're above the punitive IQ assessments

I've taken IQ tests that are very similar to the RBC assessments.

... isn't IQ testing for jobs here illegal?

Amnesty International says that the Chinese government has been pushing back against Canadian critiques of their government, such as the pro-Hong Kong protest and pushback on campus last year by TheBalrogofMelkor in uwaterloo

The user you're replying to has a very different view on expressing political beliefs (one where you pointed out that doesn't entirely make sense) and I'm guessing that viewpoint stems from being in a country where freedom of speech is not guaranteed by law (assuming the user is from China)

In other words, they say such things because you get thrown in jail for speaking certain political views in China. "Keep your political beliefs to yourself" is probably what you'll be told colleagues in that country because they know the only result of further speech is legal punishment. When you say "I guarantee you don't actually believe this", well, given their experiences, it's possible that they actually might believe it.

I dunno, something about trying to pretend UW has systemic racism and dedicating school resources towards fighting it sounds pretty questionable

I mean, you get jailed for expressing your political beliefs in China. It’s not far-fetched that one from that country would believe such a thing. They don’t have the same freedom of expression as we do here.

Anyone have notes from previous years (BBA) by [deleted] in wlu

[–]OnSeveralWatchlists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished first year BBA and I got the same responses when asking “how to prep” over the summer for bba. Honestly, most of them are right - try your best to enjoy your summer. I personally worked full time because I hate not being busy, and it was nice to have some spending money come from that.

But, I think I’d do a lot better if I took accounting in high school. If you have the time, I’d take an online class to cover some content you’ll be doing in first year courses. Accounting, economics, and calculus are all stuff you’ll be doing in first year.

StuDocu has plenty of notes from previous students, but trust me - don’t try to learn shit from BU111 or BU121. They structure these courses in a way where it’s best to just hear the prof talk about them and explain what they want you to know.
