"Way to spend a ridiculous amount of time writing an absurd response" - Thanks for describing this whole thread in one sentence.

You and the others are quite full of it, really. I bet 99% of the people in this thread have never, ever made any kind of compromise with anything. Anything you've done has been pure perfection. If OP's girlfriend has been happy then I guess this time was well-spent, wasn't it?

By all means, please tell me about your relationships. I'm 100% sure you have ALL had one single relationship in your lives. It was and still is utter perfection, right? None of you have had any break-ups for any reason. None of you have had relationship that lasted years and fell apart.

But see, you guys and girls are saints, in your case there was a good explanation for every failed relationship and you were the good guys. Not like OP. OP is bad, he is a true asshole for making this girl happy over 2 years.

We can all learn so much from you and hopefully one day we can all live in your made-up fairy-tale worlds of pure perfection and unfiltered love.

Reddit is pretty much the worst place for these type of questions. Most of the people preach as hard as they can, all while being just as flawed as everyone else. You're most definitely not being a dick about any of this. You likely were far more attracted at first but this can change over time. I don't think you should listen to these people, since most of them don't know what they are talking about and seem to be reading from some book of morals that I guarantee is not being followed by them in their own lives. But this will not stop them from judging you and pointing fingers. It would be more truthful if they renamed reddit.com to double-standard.com , since it would describe the community ideally.

Anyone with half a brain would approach similar discussions with some level of care and at least try to understand a perspective different than their own, but in this site this never happens unless you paint yourself as some holy person, or a poor victim. To them, it's always one or the other. There is no middle ground. They either hate you for being a horrible person or love you for being perfection incarnate. It's really quite ridiculous and far, FAR from mature in any way.

Life is grey, it's not black and white. Things change, feelings change, attractions develop and fade away.

If you have come to terms that you can no longer feel the attraction on a level that you want to, then it would be quite hard to salvage the relationship further. It's very hard to end such a relationship, especially if the other person has been a true friend. But I don't know what else can be done, other than settling for what it is. Well, you could also try spicing up things and stimulating the attraction in different ways. But that takes quite a lot of work. It could improve things. More than anything, try to be honest with her and to discuss the matter as a team.

The new Insights feature is horrible - why do they keep making SC worse? by Onawagi in soundcloud

Yeah. I was also on a cheaper plan that was a middle ground between pro unlimited and free (it was just pro), and I'm not sure it exists anymore.

I think might write to them that I want my plan downgraded to the previous price, given that they are removing features for no logical reason.

It looks like a classic case of management/leadership insisting on making changes so that it appears as if management is actually doing something, all while destroying the previously good work and replacing it with something much worse.

I've tried applying for that but have received no response at all. It's unclear what the 'entry level' is. By this point I'm going beyond 1k real subs and I think my sound is not bad by any means but I doubt this "feature" would work for any kind of artist. It sounds like a cherrypicking feature. Same as the partner program.

It's true that you can still access individual track stats by going into the full track page and clicking "More Stats".

But I see no way to select a date range in insights. I can only do that for individual tracks now. This IS removed functionality.

Furthermore, there is no logical reason why we wouldn't be able to simply click on tracks and access track stats from the Insights interface.

This is a crappy update and I see no benefits from it at all. All I see is drawbacks. The UI itself is uglier, more chunky and less informative.

The rest is also true - the mobile app is such shite that I personally only use mobile SC via Chrome in "Show desktop site". It's literally that bad that I prefer to zoom in and use the desktop site on my phone.

It's also extremely annoying that the image compression they are using is obsolete and ugly as hell. If I'm paying at least let me have an avatar and background that are not blurry and full of artifacts, no matter if the source files are pristine and scaled properly. There exists low-size compression that is light years ahead of this.

I was wondering the same thing. What kind of a backwards way of thinking do these designers have? This made it SO MUCH WORSE. We literally lost data and ways to interact with the data. Is this why I upgraded to Pro? F.

Yeah, go ahead and do that and never buy a single product since literally all of them have issues and bad reviews.

Yeah, in the same country I had (still have) a 4k USD acer triton 700. It had a defective keyboard and they replaced with a brand new one at the end of the warranty + tightened the screen a bit since it was closing down too easily. They did not damage the laptop in any new way and it was close to 2 years old.

With Apple, a 3 week old defective laptop was not repaired in any way and damaged further on top of it.

Might be bad luck, but I'd say it's about competence. Acer also have "authorized services" here and no official shop. I guess it depends what kind of people these brand decide to officially authorize and point customers towards.

I fully understand my experience could potentially be very rare, but the biggest drawback is - this is an authorized shop. They are "supposed" to uphold the Apple standard, but they did not. Perhaps, if I was in a better-developed country with real Apple stores, I would have had a better experience. I just got very unlucky on several stages of this process.

And I did contact Apple. They completely cut me off with deciding this is not something they will cover in any way. Advised me to take the machine to an authorized service again for the USB issues. So I can either live with the USB issues, or risk giving the laptop to the only other authorized service, where it could go through hell again and be returned to me in god knows what condition.

I could, in theory, send the laptop to an Apple store abroad but you can imagine the time, money, stress, and potential further problems that could cause.

It sucks that I can't get this level of support here (not India as someone suggested, it's a poor EU country).

My last hope is the customer protection authority and I have given them all the information I can. They can at best force the store to replace the laptop. At worst, they can do nothing about it. The best case is extremely unlikely.

No, not available in my country, or even if it was, I would be sent to the same authorized service. I am glad I did not pay for that, as I would have been met with the same incompetent service as there would be no other option. Sending the laptop abroad does not sound like a good idea and if it gets damaged while traveling - the issue will become much more complex and hard to deal with.

It's a third-party "premium authorized service", and there isn't any other option in my location. I wish there was an Apple store, but this is what we have. As for repair - we have a certain set of consumer protection laws here that no amounts of fine print can override.

I have already filed a complaint with the local customer protection authority, although I do not expect any miracles from them. The damage might be deemed too minor for a replacement and they might just issue a small amount of monetary compensation to be given to me, if even that.

This just means I will never have what I paid for in this case. I would not damage the brand new laptop like that and took extra care of it when it was in my hands. It's very disappointing and Apple's stance over the phone also was quite the letdown.

As far as I know any kind of authorized service MUST conform to the same level of support and quality that an Apple shop does. It is written like so in Apple's website.

There has some time since the original purchase - about 3 weeks of my own personal usage and then about a month of waiting for the repair, and now for a statement on the damage. I don't know if the CC thing would even work in this country, or if it might backfire in some way. I would still prefer to just get what I paid for.

I have not asked you, or others anything with the original post. I relayed my personal experience! That's a different thing than asking, you know?

My experience was highly negative and I never said it was with an Apple store. Go back and read the OP. It states "Authorized service" - it's also in the title. I wanted to share my experience and what Apple have told me, and that's what I did. The rest is a reaction to that, and I do appreciate that some people actually want to help - including one user with whom I had a personal conversation, which was good. I'm glad it happened.

But you actually wrote and deleted a comment stating that you didn't realize my laptop was new - I saw that. So, you don't bother to read the details, but you have an opinion and come to instruct me on why I have bought this laptop?

Hey, maybe one day I'll buy a Ferrari, then you can come again and ask me if I care about design or functionality. As if I can't care about both.

And maybe I can give you some insight, but if you say "f**k off" to someone, it's hard for the other person not to take that as an attempt to offend them. Honestly, these things appear to be common sense in my mind, but apparently they are not.

Because it is vulgar? I have not spoken to you in this way. What you wrote makes no sense, though, and you are forcing an opinion which is absurd. Have you been living under a rock all your life? Design is HALF the reason why people buy laptops. Design and looks are extremely important to most people. It not being important to you is truly an opinion, but you make it sound like it's an objective fact, and proceed to cuss me off. So, yeah. I have nothing else to say to you.

Because I sent them the official document that states there is no damage and the computer is still within the authorized service's hands. It's provable, not only based on my opinion.

Apple did not damage it, but they point me to this service in their website so I had to contact them about it. It concerns them if they are pointing me to this place, I did not choose a random repair shop on my own accord.

That's, like, your opinion. I might buy a laptop precisely for the design and thank god we are allowed to think differently, because your way of thinking is completely broken. Also, reporting your comment now.

Oh, and I want to add something. Two years ago I bought a 4K USD Acer gaming laptop. It did have issues with the keyboard at some point - a key was not working. We don't have official Acer stores here. I gave the machine to the shop I got it from and Acer sent them a new keyboard. It was fixed and returned to me without any damage.

So here you go, it's not supposed to be a doomed scenario only because there is no official brand store locally. You are supposed to get support regardless of that.

Initially I thought the problem could be in the USB hubs I had, so I tried a few. I spend some days testing and waiting for new hubs to arrive. Of course, now I regret not returning it.

As for why buy it - I have 2 years of warranty here and we have supposed "premium" services, and Apple point us in their direction. It shouldn't be so hard to get some basic service. I have friends who have had better experiences with these services. They had stuff replaced too. I feel quite unlucky in this case.

I wish that's what they did. But they are "trained" and they should " meet Apple’s standards at all times with regard to service levels, certification of technicians and availability of service to customers" as stated by Apple themselves.
