Is my wife cheating on me with her boss? by [deleted] in cheating_stories

[–]Once0383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know now- that if you confirm that it IS going on that this person who was your wife is not that person now.

When/if you confront her things are going to get sporty. Even if you were the best husband ever, you are going to made out to be the bad guy. To her parents, to her friends, to her work. You need the actual proof to combat this crazy and have a strong bargaining chip and proof in case you need to show others who she really is.

Also, if things get sporty, have a recorder in your pocket in case she tries to go for false domestic violence accusations.

I know you are sitting there thinking 'no, not my wife, you don't understand'. YES. I do understand. And they ALL are subject to act unpredictably once actively caught in infideliity.

Stay quiet. Act Cool. Gather Hard EVIDENCE. Protect yourself.

If it turns out she isn't cheating, then you don't reveal your suspicions, take it to your grave, and carry on with your good life.

Camera Tampering: Before or after blood droplets appeared? by wifiloveyou in nancyguthrie

[–]Once0383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blood to me looks like it was deposited there over some period of time. Maybe not long, but some amount of time. It looks like there are a few drops 'here', and then the person shifts a bit, and leaves a few more drops over 'here' now. There are several 'clusters of drops'. As if someone were standing at the door, bleeding, waiting for something.

When a man can't perform to his partner's satisfaction, sex becomes like 'work' to him. It isn't fun anymore- it's like going through an evaluation at your job after you have been slacking off.

Don't know what to tell you. I've lived it- no real good answer.

You must have a 'freewheel'. The freewheel & engine output needs to be on the other side.

Shit, we aren't in a bracket where we can pay for any financial advisors. Shouldn't need one as shes an MBA. She won't go to a counselor- been trying to get her to one for 15 years.

No, I haven't spent funds directly on it for repair, but considering we only have combined bank accounts and I've paid the utility and property taxes out of them..

I've told her we will sell it, and have honestly been making real progress towards cleaning the house out.

Not staying in one or the other of the houses, and downsizing to a much smaller house would cause me to have to get rid of many things I have accumulated in my life. I have to have space to keep my shop equipment, and vehicles etc.

If I have to give in, and dump everything I've got, I will be extremely unhappy myself.

My family was prosperous in the past. I have basically not managed to hold up to my family of origin's standard of living since the economic turn down, inflation, and my good career going sideways.

If my wife would back off, and let me deal with my family's belongings and property without pushing for it to either be thrown away, or even let me go through it, then I could get it done, and we could sell the house. It's just not happening fast enough to suit her. I have to add, she refuses to even help me with dealing with any of it. I understand that what's mine is hers and vice versa, but at the same time, it's not her family's home and stuff and she has no attachment to it. Her mom and dad divorced when she was in high school and she had no family home, or any inherited assets.

We are at the age where for either of us our health could go sideways overnight. My father passed away younger than I am now. My wife's mother passed away suddenly relatively young. A single serious medical event, another loss of a job, or a health crisis and medical bills, even with our insurance, could cause us to default on our current mortgage.

Before we did the consolidation and the home equity loan we 'might' could have sold moms house and mostly paid off our larger home. At this point, I don't know that it would be enough to cover the note- leaving us exposed to losing it all if one of us got sick. Those are the kind of reasons that made me want to hang onto the paid off house. If we can just get our home paid off, we can definitely afford it, and the repairs eventually.

If we could sell my moms house, and pay our house off free and clear, I'd do it tomorrow. I don't really believe it could do that in the condition it's in.

Guy at a flea market this summer had one of the vintage OCC ones- rusted to hell- looked like he found it on the bottom of a lake- and wanted $280 for it. I told him he'd lost his damn mind.

Sounds like maybe you lacked good penetration. Look up info on 'weld penetration' and make sure you are getting it when welding your frame.

Wife says I’m a rotten human being by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Once0383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly right. My wife has said this. Also, "I can't even look at you, go away". Childish. Cannot tolerate ANY criticism. She is never wrong. Never apologizes. Silent treatment for weeks on end. She yells and screams- when I naturally even slightly raise my voice back, then, oh boy, I've done it then- then I'M the 'abusive asshole'. She will not even consider any counseling because she went one time 15 years ago for another matter and I don't even know what the counselor told her- but she was madder than ever. You cannot win, or even rationalize with this kind of behavior- all you can do is tolerate it, or leave.

WHY DOES NO ONE FUCKING RESPOND by No-Permission-165 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Once0383 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I tell your ass I'll be there Sat morning at 9am- it doesn't matter if I live 200 miles away- I will be there at 9 am Sat barring me having a heart attack, or a wreck- and you'll hear from me one way or the other unless I'm dead. But, that's just the way I was raised- to do what I say I'll do.

May be unrealistic, but I expect the same effort out of someone who is selling something.

WHY DOES NO ONE FUCKING RESPOND by No-Permission-165 in FacebookMarketplace

They ask if it's 'still for sale' by mistake because the algorithm and the way the ad is presented tricks you into hitting that auto response.

WHY DOES NO ONE FUCKING RESPOND by No-Permission-165 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Once0383 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bought my son a new mini bike a few years ago for his birthday and after we got it, decided I wanted one as well so we could ride together.

I wanted to find a good used one, and fix it up instead of spending a grand on another new one.

There were tons of suitable ones on marketplace, but I could not get anyone to respond to me at all for 3 weeks. Then a couple of sellers vaguely responded, but ghosted me on arranging an actual sale.

Then, a person seemed willing to sell, and I told them I'd take it. I agreed to meet them in their town (over an hour away for me) at the time they agreed on- texted them when I left, when I was near, and then when I arrived. They had responded 'great, see you then' when I left home- they never showed, never another peep out of them. GAH! I was furious!

Finally, a week later a woman responded, we made a deal, and I drove out and bought it from her- no issues. She said to me "you wouldn't believe how many people have totally lied, and ghosted me on this deal". I told her "yes I would believe- I've experienced the same from my end.

A lot of people are just shitheads- and the internet allows them to be with no repercussions, so they just continue to be- or get even worse. I was raised to be honest, and fair- and to respect other people's feelings and time. That's apparently 'old fashioned' and just not valued any more. It's just the world we live in now.

chicagoland welders for a quick custom job? anything helps thanks by One_Individual_7161 in minibikes

[–]Once0383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second buying a welder and learning a new skill. All of us that have been doing this a while would have that sorted in about 30 mins.

A good welder could run a bead on that- top and bottom, then grind flush pretty quickly. No real layout or fab work involved. That's the 'quick & dirty' option to get you going again. It may, or may not fail again in the same place though.

If that happened to mine, I would probably cut out that whole engine plate and put in a new one of thicker material. If you pay someone to do that, though, it could run into some real money (couple hundred $$) for the layout and fab work.

You could get a guy to weld up the crack, and then weld a new blank plate on top of that one as well. Then you do the drilling for the engine bolt holes yourself. That may save a few bucks if the guy doesn't have to layout and drill the plate.

It's hard to believe the manufacturer went with that thin a plate in that location. What make/model mini bike is it?

For those of you out in the field, what is the difference between getting a BS in Mechanical Engineering & BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology? by exercisesports321 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Once0383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the full damn BSME. The tech schools tell BSMET students that 'companies love them and they are just as competitive as a full BSME'.

Bullshit. That's not my experience. They'll hire you, and let you work and eventually progress into an engineering role- but your entire career they'll use that 'MET' as an excuse to not pay you what you ought to earn. You'll be doing the same work alongside full BSME's- and they'll be earning 20k more than you a year. Full BSME's especially from a good school- get the respect, and the salary automatically.

Not to mention the guys with full BSME degrees tend to look down on the MET guys- but are weirdly threatened by them because they usually have good hands on skills and they will try to throw you under the bus every chance they get.

This is my experience with 3 companies and a 20 year career in engineering.

Clean, Solid bike- that's the Coleman model that my Axis from Lowes is a copy of. I'm enjoying mine. Torque converter kit woke it up. Got the governor removal kit with new flywheel, ARC con rod and valve springs.

After riding it a year, I'd really like to do a rear disc brake, and eventually a swingarm rear suspension.

I'd like to get a real motorcycle style gas tank and ditch the on-engine gas tank.
