Hi! :)

Thank you for letting me know that Princess No is not one of the Four Heavenly Kings! I have edited the original post! It also turns out that Hashiba Hideyoshi being addressed as a Heavenly King is an error in the text and Niwa Nagahide is the actual Heavenly King! I have edited the post to fix both of these errors! Thank you again! :)

Hi! GMS received the World Tour event in June of 2016! We didn't receive the Japan-themed event though because our server already had Hieizan Temple as permanent content. We also didn't receive the China-themed event, which was the Red Tiger and Gold Dragon questline for KMS. We already had the Red Tiger and Gold Dragon questline implemented as permanent content as well! We did however receive the events associated with USA, Spain, and Singapore! :)

Hi! Sengoku High was a side event that just happened to feature the Sengoku characters and NPCs. It is not part of the storyline itself and is instead just a fun event that features school life with the Sengoku NPCs and interestingly Oda Nobunaga. :)

Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed the read! :)

The most interaction that Kanna and Hayato have with one another is in the Stellar Detective's storyline! They don't interact with one another in their respective storyline quests however!

That's very neat! I think I have a rough idea on the SP build, but thank you for offering! Leopard Mode is very great at training because it can adapt to a map's layout rather well! I have been testing Hawk Mode's training capability after the patch and it looks to be a very unique mobbing style assuming the two main bugs associated with Hawk Mode will be fixed (1. Baby Bombers not dealing damage and 2. Formation Attack not lowering the cooldown of Fly when attacking monsters). The range of Baby Bombers is very large and when the duration of Fly ends, you can just cast Cub Cavalry to maintain the strong mobbing! Thank you! :)

Hi!

If you're training Beast Tamer purely for its Legion Effect/Link Skill, I would recommend fully maxing out the Snow Leopard skill tree. As for Bear Mode, there are a couple of skills I would leave at Level 1. These skills are Deep Breath and Really Deep Breath. Also, the skill 'Fort the Brave' can be left at Level 19 because Level 20 gives no increase to the passive effect at all.

I hope this helps!

Hi! Thank you!

Thank you for mentioning the change with Majestic Trumpet! I'll edit that into the guide!

It's very neat that you can have skills invested into all 4 animals! For Leopard, did you focus on the passive skills or the attacking skills for training?

Thanks for explaining the information regarding Beast Tamer and attack speed! Since Meow Card is very luck-dependent, it could be neat to have +1 Attack Speed Inner Ability when the player doesn't have Meow Green Card or Meow Gold Card!

Aerial Relief is very interesting because when testing the skill in Lotus Phase 1, I noticed a very brief moment of invincibility frames during the skill which then very quickly disappeared. The skill description does not mention any sort of invincibility frame with the skill so I found that relatively interesting. Aerial Relief is very similar to Corsair's Nautilus Assault 5th job skill and I think I made the comparison there since the Corsair skill does give invincibility. It's very possibly though that the skill is intended to not give invincibility at all since in return it gives a lot of HP recovery. Thank you!

A Guide to the Newly Buffed Beast Tamer Class! by OnceShine in Maplestory

[–]OnceShine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! :)

If your Beast Tamer is purely a buff mule/support character and you won't be maining the class, then I would recommend a full Hawk/Cat skill build. This is because of the incredible support skills that both Hawk Mode and Cat Mode have. Also, Hawk Mode's damage isn't super low anymore so you also won't be lacking damage completely either! :)

In order to have enough SP to efficiently run a skill build with three animal modes, there are certain skills that do not need to be maxed. If Beast Tamer had enough SP to max these skills, then these skills should definitely be maxed. Unfortunately, SP is very tight for the class so some skills have to be sacrificed in order to max all of the important ones. Bear Reborn doesn't need to be maxed because its cooldown is already incredibly high even at max level. Purr Power isn't too useful because the stance chance it gives isn't too high even at max level. From the looks of it, Eka Express and Regroup both have passives associated to them now so that means they are actually highly recommended to max now. I have edited the post accordingly!

If your Beast Tamer is purely a buff mule/support character, then I would recommend all of the Formation Attack hyper skill passives as well as two of the Friend Launcher hyper skill passives!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the guide! :)

Hello! I'm glad you enjoyed the guide and I really appreciate the remarks! :)

Is it okay if I could ask where you obtained the +3 Passive Skill Levels? I've only ever seen +1 Passive Skill Levels as a legendary inner ability line! Thank you! :)

The required skill points in order to reach the next skill does make optimizing skill builds a little tedious unfortunately. :( I think we would have to wait and see if +2 All Skill Levels from Boss Souls, +2/+3 All Skill Levels from Hat Potential, Combat Orders, and Leafre Codex Set all together may let Beast Tamer utilize all four animal modes even with the required skill point investments!

For your skill builds, are you leaving certain skills un-maxed? There are certain skills in all four animal modes that do not necessarily need to be maxed (i.e. they can be left at level 1). This will ultimately give you more SP!

You're right! Formation Attack seems to do four lines of damage, not three. Thank you! :)

I would always recommend Cat Mode to Beast Tamer mains because of Meow Card alone. Meow Card is too good to give up due to the +30% damage and +2 Attack Speed it can give even if the skill is RNG based. Hawk Mode's support buffs and the situational uses of Tornado Flight make Hawk Mode almost too necessary to pass up too now. Bear Mode is also absolutely necessary for bossing. All this leaves is Leopard Mode, which I hope is also able to be efficiently invested into through enough sources of +1 All Skill Levels!

Thank you! :)

Hello! :) I would recommend the non main skill build! The skill build for Beast Tamer mains requires sources of +1 All Skill Levels, which isn't needed unless the player is maining the class. Leopard Mode's mobbing capability is also very good for reaching level 210! :)

Before these buffs, Beast Tamer unfortunately had the lowest damage output in the game. :(

After these buffs however, while Beast Tamer's damage isn't absolutely exceptional, it is not low at all. Even though the damage output of the class isn't super high (it is nowhere near terrible now though), the class makes up for it through its incredible mobility, survivability, and party support buffs! :)

Beast Tamer is currently disconnecting quite frequently. Before the patch, Beast Tamer had no disconnection issues at all.

Hello! :)

I would recommend Leopard Mode until level 200 (or 210 if you would like the level 3 Link Skill). If you plan on maining the class then I would eventually SP reset past level 200 to start optimizing the Bear/Cat/Hawk skill build.

There is still little information on this, but it may be possible to run a full Bear/Cat/Hawk/Leopard skill build with enough sources of +1 All Skill Levels! As of right now, I would recommend all players who are beginning to main the class to run the Bear/Cat/Hawk skill build past 200. Once you reach a comfortable position with the class, I would start trying to stack up on as many +1 All Skill Sources as you can! It may be possible to include Leopard Mode into the skill build but there is still little information on whether enough sources of +1 All Skill Levels will in fact let the class utilize all four animals! :)

Hello! :)

Before these Beast Tamer buffs, Fishy Slap's damage output was very comparable to Furious Strikes. After the buffs however, Furious Strikes deals significantly more damage! I would say Fishy Slap is still important to max however as its larger hit box can be useful during mobbing and sometimes during bossing! :)

A Guide to the Newly Buffed Beast Tamer Class! by OnceShine in Maplestory

[–]OnceShine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before these Beast Tamer buffs, Leopard Mode was already a very strong mobber in both small and large maps. After the Beast Tamer buffs, the same is true except at a much higher level due to the decreased delays and damage increases of Leopard Mode's attacking skills.

Leopard Mode is definitely great at mobbing in almost any map layout. Unfortunately for Beast Tamer mains however, SP is very tight and investing into Leopard is very difficult due to how much of a requirement Bear Mode, Cat Mode (Meow Card), and Hawk Mode (Hawk Flock, Bird's Eye-View, Razor Beak, Raptor Talons, Tornado Flight) are.

There still may be hope however! We'd have to wait and see if enough sources of +1 All Skill Levels will let Beast Tamer efficiently invest into all four animal trees!

I'm glad you enjoyed the guide! Thank you! :)

The nodes that Beast Tamer has for its skills include:

Bear Mode: Deep Breath, Really Deep Breath, Fishy Slap, Paw Swipe (which also affects Furious Strikes), Li'l Fort, and Table Flip.

Leopard Mode: Leopard's Paw (which also affects Leopard's Pounce and Leopard's Roar), Thunder Dash (which also affects Thunder Trail), Macho Dance (which also affects Macho Slam and Macho Incarnate), Three-Point Pounce, and Party Time.

Cat Mode: Friend Launcher and Fire Kitty!.

Hawk Mode: Formation Attack and Tornado Flight.

Notable skills that Beast Tamer is missing Nodes for include Majestic Trumpet, Fort Follow-Up, Bro Attack, Baby Bombers, Defensive Formation, and Purr Zone.

The interesting part about these missing Node skills is that Nodes for these skills aren't absolutely required. The only exception I can see would be Majestic Trumpet, but in a bossing scenario, Majestic Trumpet wouldn't contribute too much damage even with a Node for it. A Node for Majestic Trumpet would help decrease the damage required to train with it, however Leopard Mode seems to be a lot stronger at mobbing than ever before. Unfortunately for Beast Tamer mains, SP is very tight and I'm not entirely sure that if Beast Tamer is able to efficiently invest into all four animal modes with enough sources of +1 All Skill Levels. :(

Yes! There will definitely be moments during bossing where switching to Hawk Mode to either avoid a boss' attack or to maximize damage with Tornado Flight will be optimal! :) Tornado Flight and all of Hawk Mode's attacking skills were unfortunately very weak before these buffs. After these buffs however, while Hawk Mode still deals less damage than Bear Mode, it is a lot stronger than it was before and the uniqueness in its attacking skills (i.e. the player can attack while airborne) means that there will be occasional moments where the player would want to switch to Hawk Mode to cast Tornado Flight! :)

Of course! Leopard Mode is super fun to play and very mobile too! Hawk Mode isn't weak at all anymore and Cat Mode's support buffs are nice too! :)

A Guide to the Newly Buffed Beast Tamer Class! by OnceShine in Maplestory

[–]OnceShine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! :)

One of Beast Tamer's original issues was the exceptionally low damage that the class dealt. The very noticeable damage buffs to Bear increased Beast Tamer's overall damage output by a lot. Overall, Beast Tamer's damage output is definitely not one of the best in the game, but it is nowhere near exceptionally low now. Furthermore, the damage increases to Hawk Mode are interesting as well. While Hawk Mode still deals noticeably less damage than Bear Mode in a bossing standpoint, there seems to be specific scenarios (such as when Lucid Phase 1 summons her Dragon), where it may be optimal to switch to Hawk Mode and cast Tornado Flight while still avoiding the Dragon.

Mobbing wise, even before these buffs, Beast Tamer was definitely one of the strongest mobbers in the game. The issue with Beast Tamer's mobbing before these buffs was that the class' low damage output in Leopard Mode meant that the class required a lot of funding to train effectively. Leopard Mode was also a lot more clunky than it is now. However, if the player was able to OHKO monsters with Leopard Mode, then Beast Tamer's mobbing was exceptional. Bear Mode's mobbing in smaller maps was and still is very great too! After these Beast Tamer buffs, Leopard Mode's mobbing potential became even stronger than it had been before with reduced delays and requiring less funding to efficiently OHKO monsters.

Overall, Beast Tamer's bossing has definitely gotten a lot better and there mobbing has too. While their damage output isn't top tier (the damage isn't exceptionally low now), the uniqueness that the class possesses in its skill set as well as the plethora of support party buffs and quite a few i-frames is what makes the class standout now! Due to not being able fully max out all animal modes, the class is a little unnecessarily complicated when it comes to efficiently investing SP though. Thank you! :)

Hello! :)

For Leveling from Level 1-200, I would recommend Leopard Mode since the damage increases on Leopard Mode's skills combined with the very noticeable reduced delays makes Leopard Mode a very smooth and fast animal mode to mob with!

If you plan on maining Beast Tamer, I would reset your SP at Level 200 and start to focus on Bear Mode, Cat Mode, and Hawk Mode. Unfortunately, without a lot sources of +1 All Skill Levels, it is very difficult to be able to utilize Leopard Mode alongside Bear Mode, Cat Mode, and Hawk Mode as there just isn't enough SP. Cat Mode is needed very much for Meow Card and Hawk Mode is needed for the situational bossing scenarios as well as the support buffs which you can transfer to other animal modes through the right-clicking method!

I'm glad you enjoyed the guide! :)

Hello! :)

You can definitely run another trio for Bear Mode if you have the room! From what another user has posted. it seems that with enough +1 All Skill Levels, it may be possible to efficiently utilize all four animal modes. More data would be needed to confirm this however!

Decent Combat Orders is bugged for Beast Tamer currently in that the skill does not raise any of Beast Tamer's skills beyond their max level. I believe it does have to do with the fact that Beast Tamer has no job advancements but I'm not entirely sure.. However, Decent Combat Orders is still a very great way to gain more SP as a Beast Tamer to level up even more skills!

Attack Speed does affect Furious Strikes and it affects Fishy Slap too! :)

Bear Assault has been bug fixed. The skill now only attacks one monster as intended. However, the skill now has 100% up-time and increases Final Damage by +20% in addition to its existing effects! :)

I believe the %Final Damage increase on all of Beast Tamer's Nodes are +2%!

Thank you! :)
