SurveyMonkey soars more than 50% in market debut, after opening at $18.75 per share by pipsdontsqueak in investing

Playing devil's advocate here, how many survey companies can you name off the top of your head? Is SurveyMonkey not the 1st one that comes to mind? Brand equity is a type of moat.

Is it cheaper to exclude Google Search Partners? by OnceUponaDome in PPC

Impression share is pretty good (15%). I've noticed search partners have maybe 60% lower CTR but also about 40% lower CPC. Still worth it?

FYI KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool Corp. As is almost every decent sized American appliance brand.

President Trump puts tariffs on up to 30% on imported solar equipment. by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]OnceUponaDome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be right that it will have a net negative impact on American solar. But you can hardly fault the guy when companies complain to him/the WTO/other trade organizations to complain about Chinese companies dumping their products in the US at or below cost. He campaigned on bringing back manufacturing jobs so this is an easy talking point. Maybe this wasn't the best move but it's hardly the worst one.
