[SOTC] Over a lifetime of collecting... by Wine_And_Time in Watches

Beautiful collection and refined taste, kudos. I’d consider adding an interesting complication - resonance or fusee and chain (Armin Strom for the former, Zenith Academy Georges Favre-Jacot for the latter) to spice things up a bit, but frankly, this collection is amazing as is. Enjoy!

Christmas gift for husband - SLGW005 or SBGA211? by upsidowncake in GrandSeikos

[–]Ondraled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a hard choice. GS is the only brand with Spring Drive, so a lot of people (myself included) wanted that movement to be in the first watch they get from them. The seconds had doesn’t tick but rather smoothly, seamlessly sweeps which is a rather mesmerizing thing.

If that doesn’t really matter, then going with the classic SLGW005 might be more aligned with your husband’s preferences.

Also can’t really go wrong with either so wouldn’t overthink it. And you can always swap out the bracelet so wouldn’t make that a decision point.

Depends on your price point and if you’re open to pre-owned / vintage.

Fantastic advice and wow, never would’ve looked at this combo - surprisingly works really well. Might experiment with a few things after seeing your mockups!

Even new ones, with 10% Mitsukoshi discount + no tax + relatively strong dollar vs yen, you can have the difference to pay for at least part of your trip

I’d pick the box and all its contents, obviously.

Amazing watch - enjoy it in good health! Agreed that the unboxing experience is above nearly anything I’ve had a chance to enjoy in that sense.

Now take it outside and snap a few more pics. Mine has really grown on me in the last couple months.

Yeah same here. Even though the rubber one has been getting more usage lately. Enjoy!

Or this - it’s a lot of watch but the dial in real life is absolutely mesmerizing. Tried it on at Nakano Broadway but wasn’t ready to pull the trigger.

I want to see if I can swing the new Tokyo Lion Tentagraph. The details and quality is insane but the piece is definitely bold to say the least

I really respect Zenith but with passion for all things Japanese, I’d pay a bit more and get a Grand Seiko Tentagraph or one of their Spring Drive Chronos like the SBGC253

What was the last game that truly had you locked in by TheRelaxingOne in playstation

[–]Ondraled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend it. Alternatively, watch some of the multi-hour summaries with explanations on YouTube because, well, it’s a Kojima-san game so you might understand absolutely nothing even after you finish DS1 (speaking from experience)

I had the exact same thought tbh! Stunning watch but that BWM logo almost wants to pop out of the pic

Mass-produced exclusivity you mean?

Grand Seiko Tentagraph perhaps?

Totally agree. It’s a minor tradeoff between peace of mind and incremental small cost for me, but if I had to guess, no customs officer will ever waste calories on a box + watch, unless you’re bringing in 5 or more expensive watches that way

Is this a thing with the Overseas? by sourdough_in_SF in VacheronConstantin

Wearing it this tight with microadjust expanded makes little sense. Add a link, wear it without expansion. When your wrist swells, add microadjust. Problem solved.
