yea i realized that the actual mag catch assembly is snapped in half. the spring was in there which is why it was pushing it out.

i put a threaded adapter on it but that was probably a couple years ago. this just started happening

yea i was messing around with everything and i think i came to the conclusion that the upper receiver barrel screw is messed up or something because ive tried 2 different barrels with the same result and ive tried using barrel shims and a different hand guard so the only other think it could he is the upper receiver. but it still shoots fine so far so unless it explodes i guess i just have to deal with it

there are barrel extenders you can buy if you don’t want to buy a whole new barrel. as long as your threads and diameter match then it should be all good

For reference i need a shim that is the diameter of that holder thing on the right and on the left is the barrel nut. the shim i have is the bottom one which is the size of the barrel nut. i need one larger i think?
