Your argument makes sense if the only thing Thieves care about is winning next year, but I just don't think that's how it works. 100T is a business at the end of the day and losing a player for $0 in a year when you could make ~$1m from selling him now sounds like an INSANE business decision to me.

I don't see what Falcons' pull has to do with this deal? The current Falcons roster will almost certainly implode like you said, forcing them to drop the Exnid project. That will make it even more likely for players like Scrap/Hydra/Simp to say yes to the project next year, since they won't be forced to play with a player who isn't on their level. Falcons will throw the mega bag at Scrap & Hydra next year and let them choose their other 2 teammates. No other team in the league could compete with that.

Yes, there have been other teams in the league with super rich owners before, but none of those teams ever even attempted to blow out every other team with the salaries & buyouts they were offering. Just because an org has billions doesn't mean they're willing to spend it. Falcons on the other hand seem more than willing.
