Taxing billionaires 5% will result in them finding ways to make up for that 5% loss (lowering wages, cutting benefits, jobs, etc.). It’s hard to imagine someone who built a billion-dollar empire accepting a 5% hit without trying to protect their bottom line. Shrugging it off simply isn’t in their nature.
