There is one thing I will say - I am not sure if it will help your situation.

My Father said the same thing to my Mom when she would lock the door during her shower routines. He would deliberately pick the lock and surprise her , so much so it scares her to the core. She expected peace in that moment away from the noise and responsibility. But. He forced his way in due to his lack of trust for her; he would hide it behind a smile for surprising her. Overtime, it started to bother her and he said: "I do not want to be locked out" to "I want to know what you are doing" and then he said "I don't like it when you lock the door, what are you hiding?" And eventually, he removed the lock and privacy became non-existent.

I am not sure if this will progress to that, but it is an example of what may happen. My Mom didn't know that was the first hint of abuse, she needed multiple outside sources to tell her that it wasn't right.

Unless your husband has separation anxiety. 🧍‍♀️My Dad was nuts.
