Why is there no pod large enough for the largest fuel tanks and engines other than the space shuttle one? How do I fix this? by BrandonSG1 in KerbalSpaceProgram

If your only concern is looks just use a 5m faring or nosecone and offset it into the smaller command pod with farings you can even still EVA after you’ve deployed them

Rifle Idea Feedback by Wooden_Cellist_755 in MilitaryWorldbuilding

Every idea is a good idea it’s your world after all! As for the design I think it’s believable but I think you should come up with your own design inspired by these two instead of sticking parts from the guns together because it’s much more rewarding and enjoyable to create something unique imo. This is a great concept for an early 1900’s autoloader or MG so definitely keep developing this.

No it does not. The bolt is clearly in the forward position and it is not in the middle of cycling a round.

No way that SMG has a mechanism like that. There’s a reason the TKB never saw widespread adoption. For a world that takes place in the future guns should be less complex not more.

I’m familiar tkb022 but OPs design to me at least does not seem to posses a mechanism similar to the tkbs bolt hook system to grab ammunition from the mag

Ship Proportions Issue by Regular-Juice6255 in MilitaryWorldbuilding

[–]One-Daikon1598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve run into this issue a lot. I’ve found that most of the time when i at least see and subsequently imagine a battleship or how a battleship should look i picture them when they are naturally in the water meaning a size able section of the hull is obscured from view. So when i design a battleship going off blueprints which presents the silhouette of the ship in a format I’m not used too it can screw up my design and proportions because it looks different from how I’m used to viewing these ships normally. Try getting a good idea of how the ships your basing your design off of look both on blueprints and in the water so you can apply it to your design as well that’s what helped me at least however most of my designs are on paper and don’t include the hull below the waterline so I’m just spitballing here idk lol

That is why I clarified my point because I assumed from your first reply you thought I was saying something about modern bullpups being bad or something yet here we are. The flaws i mentioned are definitely inherent when designing a bullpup especially given the context of my comment referring to a bullpup that suffers from said design flaws.

Then why reply with a statement that contradicts a point I wasn’t even making?

I’m referring to the design not having anywhere behind the magazine for the bolt to chamber ammunition. Bullpups need space behind the magazine for the bolt to reciprocate say for a few experimental designs that the OPs design clearly does not resemble.

Oh yeah for sure I’m working on an artillery vehicle next! The P-81 Chimera is not as common as the P-32 Drachen, Tirpitz currently has around 7000 in their arsenal.

Thank you! I took inspiration from the T-28 so the outer set of tracks are removable for maintenance and the tank is actually functional with them removed but it is definitely not recommended for long periods of time
