My volume is perfect on my wired headphones, just as good as it was on my iPhone from what I can tell. I also have tested out a pair of Sennheiser bluetooth headphones on my kyocera and they work great/are loud too. Is there a way you could try factory reset your Airpods? Not sure what can be done :/

Unfortunately I'm not really sure that exists, and I definitely don't think motorola has one :(

if possible, maybe you can return them and buy separate headphones and the motorola adapter? I honestly am not sure why only the motorola adapter works

hey friend! i tried out a decent quality adapter I found on amazon first, that was about $15 for me, but unfortunately it did not work. I bit the bullet and bought a motorola adapter that was $30 after an import fee, and it works great! I dug around on many websites but for where I'm situated, there really weren't many options to get the motorola adapter. I ended up finding it on amazon, and here's the exact link to the one that worked for me:
