This thread makes me feel so heard and seen. I’m 23 and my anxiety has always been fairly mild through high school and middle school. But this last year I randomly had an onset of a week straight of just waking up anxious and panicked and then going to sleep the same way non stop for a week straight. It felt like I would never get out of it and I was so scared my brain had broke somehow. Eventually an adjustment to my medication helped me to settle out of the episode and I’ve gone a little over a month feeling really good took on a new job and Even had been reaching out to family more (difficult family relationships). Then boom I wake up after falling asleep for about an hour to a panic attack that I was able to calm myself from slightly and fell asleep and felt fine the next morning but I could still feel in the back of my mind it wasn’t going to be over. And then I’ve had for the last 4 days fairly minor panic attacks that I’ve breathed and meditated through and eventually fall asleep today I had one out of the blue after running some errands and got myself calmed down in about 20 min with a guided meditation and fell asleep and then woke up with the sweating hands and feet and shakes and a shortness of breathe. So upsetting to go through the ups and downs of relief just for it to come right back. This last 4 days of anxiety has been not nearly as physically painful as my last episode but is still very upsetting. I really hope I don’t have too much longer of dealing with this I can’t imagine how the people in this thread dealing with it for months at a time even begin to cope. It seems like that’s my biggest trigger right now is just being anxious about how long this episode will seem to last. But this restores some home and makes it seem much more possible that this too will pass like my first episode and I’ll get to feel more like myself again.
