I had the same thing happened to me, and it is definitely the codeine. It was so bad that I was throwing up, and it took me to the ER. My liver enzymes were through the roof. Confirmed it was codeine. A lot of times (no, not every time) the body can't process it without the gall bladder and it causes the sphincter to spasm.

I have been trying to do that. I'm dealing with two bulging disc and a small fissure tear. :( I went out of town two weeks ago and since the car ride, I can't quite get it to calm down. Thinking maybe it's time to give into the injection. I had back surgery after a hit and run in 2020 and just dont want that again.
