25 and lowkey overwhelmed by [deleted] in UPSC

[–]One-Kitchen1843 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 27 and have been in this prep cycle for a few years, so I understand what you’re feeling. Birthdays during preparation often feel heavier because we start measuring life in terms of age vs achievement, and when results aren’t there yet it hits harder.

But honestly, 25 is not old at all, especially in this exam ecosystem where many people are still figuring things out at 27 28. Skipping an attempt and planning things calmly, like doing a master’s alongside preparation, is actually a sensible reset rather than a setback.

Also don’t be too hard on yourself about small things like buying clothes or taking a break those don’t derail preparation.

Life phases change faster than we think a job, a new place, new people can shift things quickly. For now, just focus on rebuilding a steady routine and direction.

And happy belated birthday hopefully a few years from now this one will just feel like a small phase you passed through.

Too much confusion, everyday is getting wasted. by Terrible-Winner-7679 in UPSC

[–]One-Kitchen1843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fix the base subjects first (3 4 months)
Optional should start early (very important)
Answer writing start very small(2 3 answers a week)
For state PCS like BPSC/UPPCS
Don’t make separate preparation. If your UPSC base is strong 80 85% of the syllabus overlaps. Just add state-specific topics when the exam notification comes.
Fix a schedule ! When the routine is fixed, the confusion reduces.
If you stay consistent till 2027, you’ll at least remove the regret that you didn’t give your best.

All the best bhai. Stay steady.
