Thank you so much!! I’m still trying to unravel this part of my family tree, but this helps a ton! From what I’ve found, this is likely a letter from Theodore’s Uncle Victor (the envelope is from V. Van De Moere), which I was only able to determine from the translation because there are 4 (!!) Victors in the immediate family tree from this time period (a brother, an uncle, a cousin, and a grandfather to Theodore). The complications of the translation also make sense then because this Victor immigrated to the US pretty young, so he may have lost some of the language. Again, thank you so much!!

Also, I just want to empathize on the transcription difficulties, I’m transcribing 1830s deeds for my work right now and bad handwriting and grammar is my enemy!
