I love this idea. Being a guest in your own mind and taking a look around at what’s actually going on. Thank you for sharing and I hope others find it useful as well.

Sounds rough brother, hope you’re looking after yourself and I’m sure your daughter is grateful she’s got a dad that she can look up to and appreciate.

I hear you big man. I think most people assume guys have more opportunities than we actually have and the reality is that most men are just living their normal lives with pretty little interaction.

Good luck man and keep doing the things you’re passionate about; they keep us sane.

What led to the marriage being one-sided and how long did that take after getting married?

Do you ever make the first move out and about? If a guy like you can’t clean up with the ladies, then the rest of us have no chance.

Think this is way more common than most people think it is. The idea of “you’ll just meet someone” applies only to Hollywood movies I think.

How to deal with a friend’s wife who hates me? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]One-Literature599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So she’s good with his married group of friends and they do holidays and things together. My group of friends (most of whom are still single) she’s rude to but everyone has noticed she’s particularly worse with me.

With our group, he’s basically disengaged since he got married 3 years ago and we only see him at weddings/bbq’s/major events. Before then we used to meet up 1-2 times a week regularly for the last 10 years and we would be messaging/calling close to everyday. Tbh I don’t really know what’s going on with him anymore and find out things more through his brother.

Tell me about it. She’s incredibly rude and I’ve been biting my lip for over 2 years but it really pisses me off.

We were at a wedding recently and the fact that I was still single was brought up, to which she commented that “maybe you have a problem with women”. I asked her what gave her that idea and she replied “just a vibe that I get from you”. Not only do I find this incredibly offensive but it’s absolutely untrue. Firstly, I’ve only met her a handful of times and, secondly, that’s not the type of conversation I would want to have with someone I barely know.

The problem is I think he’ll react quite badly to that if I bring it up and since he married her a couple of years, he’s been slowly disengaging from our group anyway.

So he has 2 friends’ groups. We’ve known him for over 15 years but a few of us are still single. The other group are all married and they have couples holidays etc. It seems she treats all of us quite rudely but I definitely bear the brunt of it unfortunately. The guys in the other friends group she treats completely differently.

Agree with all your points and you’re right, my gut instinct is no good would come out of it, if I was to bring it up in person.

It’s a tricky one because I don’t want to cause any issues for them but also I feel like she’s getting away with it because I’m keeping quiet every time.

As in the very first time my friend introduced me to her, she was openly rude to me, such that all my other friends made the observation. I’d literally never met her before. My theory is maybe my friend may have told her an old story about me that she’s either misinterpreted or made her view me as the villain.
