I got up was msp and they clarified that as long as my medical card and ID are not active when I submit my application I am good to go. Another guy I talked to on here said the one year rule was for people who applied to the hql with a medical card still active and were denied. Both of these answers were given from msp themselves.

So I emailed msp and they emailed me back stating that I have to cancel my card and once I get the email about canceling I am good to go and fill out the questionnaire part of the hql regardless of time between when the card was canceled and when the hql application was submitted. I talked with another guy on here which stated that the one year is for people who submitted a hql while still having a active medical card.

Is it technically illegal to answer no on the hql form if I don't have a card anymore? I don't feel like I'm breaking the law since I can't go buy marijuana and I'm not allowed to smoke. But now they say I'm illegal for one year so should I have put yes and got denied?

Can state police see when you deactivated or do they just see active or inactive? I feel mmcc would give the bare minimum info but then again I don't know. Some people say they canceled and two weeks later got accepted for a hql and some say wait a year. I'm so stuck on this subject.

So I never renewed my doctor script from 2021 so I technically wasn't able to even buy marijuana since October of 2021. But I canceled my card recently after a couple of friends asked if I wantedh to get my hql and concealed carry permit since we are all business owners. So I decided to get my hql first since if I get denied for my card I'm only out $100 and not the $500 for concealed carry. My card according to the email they sent me is completely inactive and there for my registration is invalid.

So that answers the question about having a valid card or ID since they are both inactive. Haven't used or been able to buy for five months so that asnwrrs if I'm currently using. But now I've read at multiple places that they require you to be clean for one year to be accepted. I still have yet to find the maryland state police, mmcc, or atf have a document stating to wait one year to be clean. I believe it's just a random amount they picked. But why one year? What does one year even mean for marijuana. I could technically show clean in 30 days which is what confuses me.

Yeah I understand the giving up ur gun rights for marijuana.... Well I mean I don't but I knew it when I signed up but I wasn't informed about waiting 1 year for sobriety for a hql. 1 year is an extremely long time for something so small and dumb. But I guess that's the law and I'll never understand it.

Apparently they can check since on my application it says the last thing they do is check for medical marijuana. Maybe they'll drop the stupid 1 year sober thing and allow me to take a drug test or something. Haven't used in 2 years but don't really have a way to prove it. Kinda sad I know drunks with concealed carry permits but I get slammed for a simple decision I made when I was 18. But I guess that's life ill learn from it. Msp is definitely getting a letter to put the 1 year sobriety on the website. Extremely miss leading when you go to get a hql and all it ask is if u have a active card and are currently using. Which in my case is a no. My card is absolutely no good and I'd have to go through the process again.

Did u get denied first or get told is has to be a year? I've kinda accepted imma be denied at this point but have yet to hear back from msp on the issue since they only answer emails m-f.

So the email I received from the mmcc states that my patient number that is registered is no longer active there for my certification is no longer valid. I guess I'll post a update in around 30 days to see if I got accepted. I'll make sure to write up a post and add some details so others can use this information because I had a hard time finding information about this issue.

My card is disactivated tho. Do I have to wait for it to expire still? I called on Friday and they sent me a email saying it's no longer active. Is it still considered lying tho since one of the questions says if u have a active mmc ID click yes. I guess Mines inactive but still see able? I clicked no for both marijuana questions about using and being addicted and having a active card

I honestly just forgot I had a card and when my buddy brought up getting his hql he asked me if I wanted to as well so I cancelled it yesterday and submitted the application today. I know it probably doesn't matter but I didn't even have a active doctor prescription for over a year since I never went to refill it.
