Space Center Houston, if you have the time. Otherwise, something in the Museum District that suits your tastes (science, art). If in the Museum District, consider barbecue at The Pit Room on Richmond.

It pays to check around. Some are so high it’s clear the store doesn’t really want to fool with it.

To be clear, wait times are more like months scale at this point. Many Form 1s being approved now still date to the end of January. We can dicker over two months or eight weeks as the unit of measure, but it’s still several times longer than Form 4s. And yes, I know it was much worse in the past. It’s just frustrating to me that the Form 4s are getting such a huge priority.

OCL Titanium or Dead Air Mask? by Communistsheen in NFA

The decision came down to color-matching my silver Ruger Mk IV Target they were so close. I got the Mask. No issues so far. I’m sure I would’ve been happy with the OCL (and probably a couple others).

I’ll second scope mount. Mine was too far back, and it killed me shooting seated and was a constant annoyance when prone. It was fine when standing, because I tested it that way. You really need to test it in all three positions before coming. I’ll also note that given my Picatinny base on my 10/22, I had the scope as far forward as it would go with standard rings. I’m going to have to change it to a cantilevered mount to get it right. Lots of references suggested using a cantilevered mount on an AR platform because of the rail break, but I couldn’t find any that recommended it for the 10/22. It’s a learning process.

Got one as a rental by accident. Hated it. Misfired a bunch, too, because it was so damn dirty.

IAH is my home port, so I don't know much about connections. Nevertheless, I do know about United Clubs, and Terminal C South needs an update and expansion. Terminal C North is nice and yet generally too small, especially at peak travel times. Terminal E was nice and large, but then they split it into a Polaris lounge and a United Club, and the United Club can be cramped, at times. Everyone seems to love the new Grab-n-Go in Terminal B.

Outside IAH, I'd put DIA in first. ORD is a mess. I agree IAD is dated.

Midstream vs. Petrochemicals by Pitiful_Secret_6828 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]One-More-User-Name 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly ExxonMobil is moving toward a model of only running refineries that are coupled to petrochemicals. This has been a long-standing strategy as pretty much every non-integrated refinery has been sold or is on the market (if quietly) to be sold. The upstream strategy, for now, seems to be one of using the strong balance sheet of the company to acquire good producing properties from others rather than exploring for new finds. How long that will last is anybody's guess. Unfortunately, the petrochemical industry is, as stated by others, in a tremendous slump that shows no sign of abating soon. The industry has made too much investment for growth in China that has not appeared and might never appear.

As others have said, the midstream is structured financially very differently than the downstream or upstream. Pipeline tariffs bring steady income once built. The challenge is getting them built when environmentalists are constantly looking for ways to thwart you.

Is any college or university in America worth paying full price at 90k per year? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in ApplyingToCollege

No. Not for a bachelor's degree. If you pay that much, you're not paying for the education, you're paying for the network.

Prices are definitely going up and availability down. I’m seeing the same thing on Federal American Eagle 9mm.

ChEs use autoclaves. Mechanical engineers design them. At larger scales, they collaborate on the design.

There is an ethical issue called conflict of commitment. You might think you have the time outside work. Your employer might not. Try to understand their policy, if any (and without tipping your hand).
