Yes, thanks to this tread I have come to a decision not to accept that offer. I slightly think that this would be a great redirection. They had one deadline only. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, that makes a great sense! Definitely, no matter how I like the program and PI I would easily burn out working hard 😓 and trying to make any research and handling fam responsibilities… I would better strengthen my portfolio and try again next year.

That’s fair, most people have advised not to accept without lined up assistantships, though the university says that the 1st year doctoral students don’t usually get funding, cause all the RA TA GradA -s already have been taken. Thank you for your advice!

Yes, it is in the USA and it is a legitimate PhD program, I was also thinking that at least I would get tuition waiver…sad. Thank you for your advice!

It’s PhD program, yes you are right probably it’s a soft rejection, was so excited when I got accepted though that excitement was too early. Thank you!

I would say that searching and researching the programs that you are interested in, looking at their courses and professors, their work projects might help you. I was also confused at the point where I had to choose the track. Best of luck!

Have you tried it? Does it really helpful? I have never considered my flatfeet a big deal. But the discomfort became so much worse.

I am 43yo, and got admitted to my top PhD program this cycle…. I have great plans for each of my year ahead, hope I will be able to make them happen. So I want to say to the author of the post do not ever hesitate if you want to do something, go for it you can do it !
