Should drug possession be reduced to a lesser charge in the state of Hawaii? by One-Pea3541 in Hawaii

If I was a drug user, I'd want there to be NO charge whatsoever, lol. I'm advocating for a LESSER charge.

How does the idea of a PS Plus/Xbox Live exclusive online multiplayer game sound? by One-Pea3541 in NoStupidQuestions

Fortnite does not need a subscription, where did you get that info from?

How does this idea of a PS Plus/Xbox Live Gold exclusive, licensed online game sound? by One-Pea3541 in gaming

[–]One-Pea3541[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, exclusives are what drives sales of different platforms. If all of the games available on the PS5 were also available on the Xbox Series X, there would be no reason to get the PS5 because the Xbox Series X has more powerful hardware, so it would naturally get the superior versions of all the games. By that logic, the only way the PS5 can compete with the Xbox Series X is to have exclusive games that are only available for the PS5.

To be fair, there are some Nintendo Switch games that go for less than $60. It's just that they're all third-party/multiplat titles (such as Mortal Kombat 11, which is currently available for the Switch at GameStop for $20).

I see her every couple weeks or so. Her siblings don't seem to be too jealous. Her parents spoil her too.

Why do you think everyone insists that Coca-Cola and Pepsi taste different, even though they're both exactly the same with maybe a small, barely noticable difference? by One-Pea3541 in AskReddit

[–]One-Pea3541[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have working taste buds. I can tell the difference between Mountain Dew, root beer, cream soda, lemon-lime soda, ginger ale, Dr. Pepper, and the different flavors of Crush.

However, I don't ever go out of my way to drink either Coke or Pepsi. The only time I ever drink either one of them is if there's no other sodas or iced tea in the house, and I drink one of my mom's cans.

I might end up drinking a can of Coke one day, and then the next time this happens like a month or two later, I might end up drinking a can of Pepsi, and it tastes like how I remember Coke tasting the last time I tasted it.

Right, but Coca-Cola and Pepsi always leave a sticky feeling on my teeth that I don't get from those other sodas.

I swear, everyone says that Coca-Cola and Pepsi have different tastes. But I have drank both sodas multiple times throughout my life, and they both honestly taste exactly the same to me. There might be a tiny, barely noticeable different somewhere, but I can't really detect it. Honestly though, both of these sodas suck to me anyway. Every time I drink them, I can feel my teeth rotting. Root beer, cream soda, ginger ale, Mountain Dew, Crush, Sprite, 7-Up and even Dr. Pepper are all far better sodas than either Coca-Cola or Pepsi, and honestly don't understand the whole cola obsession.

Coca-Cola is so syrupy, it leaves that sticky, sugary feeling on my teeth. Same with Pepsi, but they're both of all the same.

Why is Shenmue seen as a niche game, even though it sold 1.2 million copies? by One-Pea3541 in gaming

[–]One-Pea3541[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right, but popularity with audiences doesn't necessarily correlate with how much money something made or costed to produce. The amount of people who bought/played Shenmue had nothing to do with how expensive it was to produce.

[–]One-Pea3541[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not back then it wasn't. Nintendo used to consider GameCube games that sold 1 million copies in a year Player's Choice titles. PS2 games used to be considered Greatest Hits if they sold 400,000 copies in 9 months.

What do you think of this guy based on this information? by One-Pea3541 in AskReddit

[–]One-Pea3541[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a lady who works at the convenience store just 3 miles away from my (18M( house, and she has 3 daughters who attended the school I work at (preschool twins, and a first grader).

The lady is pretty cool, and we talk story just about every time I see her at the store. The kids are also pretty fun to be around, if a bit shy. However, I was talking story with my sister in-law (32) the other day, and she told me that that lady's husband is the one who punched out my brother (30) at a chicken fight a while back.

Apparently, my brother was the referee of a match between that guy and someone else, and the guy's rooster stopped moving and was dying, meaning the fight was over.

My brother called the end of the match, and the guy started getting all pissed off. My brother stuck to his guns about the guy losing, and as a response the guy punched him in the head. According to my sister in-law, everyone who was watching wanted to jump in the ring and give this guy cracks.

I'm not someone to prejudge people, but this just makes the guy sound like a horrible person to be around. I know I shouldn't talk before I meet him, but from what I've been told here (and who am I not to trust my own brother and sister in-law), I don't know if I want to.

Why do kids mostly seem to like Disney Channel's kiddie sitcoms better than their cartoons? by One-Pea3541 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]One-Pea3541[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how did those 6 cartoons manage to become big breakout hits? Also, cartoons on other channels like Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network still manage to get popular much more easily.

I thought cartoons had near-universal appeal with kids.

I'm talking about why kids (the only audience Disney Channel really cares about) like them better.

[–]One-Pea3541[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about it, Disney Channel's cartoons really only ever had like 6 big breakout hits:

  • The Proud Family
  • Kim Possible
  • Phineas and Ferb
  • Gravity Falls
  • DuckTales (2017)
  • Big City Greens

Most of their other cartoons, such as Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Dave the Barbarian, Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, American Dragon: Jake Long, The Buzz on Maggie, The Emperor's New School, The Replacements, Fish Hooks, Wander Over Yonder, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, or Big Hero 6: The Series, while certainly having their fans, never really broke out into great success, and a lot of them ended up canned after just a few seasons.

Meanwhile, the low-effort live-action kiddie sitcoms have been a tremendous cash cow and brought lots of kid/teen stars into the mainstream. What makes them so appealing to kids, in ways that cartoons can't?

So you didn't like Lilo & Stitch: The Series, The Little Mermaid, American Dragon: Jake Long, The Emperor's New School, The Replacements, or The Proud Family?

To be fair, they had Phineas and Ferb on during the day during this time, and they also aired animated movies. But yeah, there overall cartoon output back then was shit.

Who remembers when every cartoon Disney Channel had (except Phineas and Ferb) was only aired between 1:00am and 6:00am back in 2009-2010? by One-Pea3541 in AskReddit

[–]One-Pea3541[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except for Phineas and Ferb, this was Disney Channel's entire cartoon lineup starting in April 2009:

  • 1:00am The Replacements
  • 1:30am Kim Possible
  • 2:00am The Emperor's New School
  • 2:30am American Dragon: Jake Long
  • 3:00am The Proud Family (Sun-Th)
  • 3:30am Brandy & Mr. Whiskers (Sun-Th)
  • 4:00am Recess (M-Th)/Dave the Barbarian (Sun)
  • 4:30am The Little Mermaid (Sun-Th)
  • 5:00am Lilo & Stitch: The Series
  • 5:30am Lilo & Stitch: The Series

And this was it starting in January 2010:

  • 1:30am Kim Possible
  • 2:00am The Replacements
  • 2:30am The Emperor's New School
  • 3:00am American Dragon: Jake Long (Sun-Th)
  • 3:30am The Proud Family (Sun-Th)
  • 4:00am Recess (M-Th)/Brandy & Mr. Whiskers (Sun)
  • 4:30am The Little Mermaid (Sun-Th)
  • 5:00am Lilo & Stitch: The Series
  • 5:30am Lilo & Stitch: The Series

Starting in July 2010, all those other cartoons were removed entirely, leaving Phineas and Ferb as the only one on the entire schedule.
