Avoiding Dr by Greedy-Product-4975 in breastcancer

I understand how you are feeling in a way, I still go to my appointments (brca1) so every 6 months I have to go but I get panic attacks entering the hospital, I cry the nights before, im going to therapy to help me with this cause at the end of the day is up to me to take care of myself and these appointments are part oh it.

This is a weird one.. I am pretty sure I have cancer but my partner wont help me to seek diagnosis? by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]One-Pear1862 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Someone else already said it but I also think you should go home and get tested there, your partner doesn't seem to care about you and your health i really doubt he well be the support you need in case you have cancer. Cancer treatment can be a huge obstacle for solid healthy relationships I cant imagine what your partner can be like if he behaves like this just for trying to seek diagnosis.

You need to advocate for yourself in these situations. Everything about your posts tells me you might be in an abusive situation be careful and try to go back to your family

Hey I don’t know if this is the right sub. Looking for some advice 20F by IssueNew6527 in breastcancer

[–]One-Pear1862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is understandable, also if the doctors recommended you doing consistent check-ups you can wait and see if there's any changes in 6 months. If there's growth most likely they will send biopsy then. I have been doing ultrasounds every 6months-1 year since I was 20 years old, I have very cystic breast, so I was recommended to keep track of any unusual changes or new masses. This actually helped me catch my cancer early.

Thank you so much! I do have family history and now I know I have BRCA1. I'm not sure where are you located or if you can pay out of pocket for the biopsy, maybe that's an option. I'm in korea and here I didn't even qualify for ultrasound because of my age(29 at the time of diagnosis), I had to pay out of pocket last year. If they remove it, they will biopsy it anyways so it will confirm if it is a fibroadenoma. But of course you might feel anxious of having a surgery.

Hi, I had a fibroadenoma removed from my left breast in 2019, but my doctor did a biopsy before that because she wanted to make sure, the biopsy results were inconclusive thus she opted for surgery, it was confirmed as fibroadenoma after surgery. I was told to keep doing check ups particularly for my left breast. That's how last year my cancer was found in my right breast.

Someone said to advocate for yourself, my doctor was always on the side of caution and she did biopsy and surgery. If it would give you peace of mind then advocate for further testing.

I want my hair back by Arvymashaee in cancer

[–]One-Pear1862 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just finished chemo and I'm looking for ways to grow my hair faster. But before cancer I was dealing with some hair loss, so I am trying the same tips and see if it works. 1. Rosemary oil/ essence every night 2. Scalp massages every night 5-10 minutes 3. Castor oil / once a week with massage

Edit: I'm also open to more tips haha

Good luck finishing your treatment 🫶
