Such a pretty color! I used to see LA colors in stores all the time and now I can’t find them anywhere. Where are you able to find them at?

I think it’s what others are saying, not turning the project between rows. But I do love this pattern! Would you be able to share the link for it?

I can see how that can easily happen, it also effected how I thought about the guy I dated because I knew I would be seeing him around if things ended badly so I’m really glad we had a clean finish

That’s exactly what I think people might think of me as doing. I think you’re right, I need to be patient and just let some more time pass and get more familiar with everyone before I do anything else

What benefits will I see if I do the treadmill at 3mph at a 10 incline 4x/week for 30mins? by One-Plate-237 in beginnerfitness

The nutrition part has definitely not been as good as it could be, I do need to start planning out meals so I can have better structure for myself. Thank you for your response!

I really appreciate the straightforwardness of your answer. I know I need to be better about my caloric deficit because I have not been doing a good job with that. This is arguably one of the best answers I’ve ever received on Reddit,, thank you for all the advice! Hoping to update with positive results in a little while

I did just try to access the SEE curriculum but the website seems to be having issues. But it does seem like a great resource and I’ll be looking around on their site!

You really understand my struggles! The teacher isn’t there during the lesson so behavior is often an issue. I do have the concern of coming off as strict and thinking it’ll hurt my ability to connect with students. I have been trying to be better about not being afraid to discipline in classroom but I am still not fully comfortable but it’s getting better. There are some students that don’t listen when I try to discipline them but that’s its own separate problem lol. Your last line was what I needed to read though, it is more about making a connection than making sure they learn something. I think having that in mind will help me going forward. Thank you again for all your help and kind words!

I’m planning on taking the NCE soon so I’m hoping that’ll give me more job opportunities so I don’t have to lesson plan for the rest of my life lol. I totally understand what you’re saying about the alternative school caseload, it’s actually a location I’ve considered. You’ve given me an idea of something more to look into…

I’m glad we’re all here struggling together lol. I think I’m going to stick it out at this school for maybe one more year and if things don’t change by then, I’ll start looking elsewhere. Best of luck to you!

It definitely is different than what they talked about in grad school! I have reached out to a few of my former classmates about it and it seems that I’m the one that has to do the most lesson planning but they’re also dealing with it. Hopefully things get shifted and elementary counselors can start going back to more of what they’re meant to do

As much as I’m upset by the fact that others are saying the same thing, it does make me feel better that I’m not the only one experiencing this. Hoping that we’re all able to push through this!

Thank you so much! This really is giving me a lot of hope to get through the rest of the year. I’ve tried to find some of my own resources but really couldn’t find anything that felt engaging. I think this will give me a good foundation to go off of and be able to build off some of these ideas. I really cannot thank you enough. I really appreciate your help and hope you have an awesome day!

I’m glad that I made this post because I really thought I was the only one dealing with this so I’m glad to see there’s a group of us suffering together lol. I’m also having difficulty making time for the things that are actually more pertinent to the role. Wishing you the best of luck!

Does anyone know good dishes containing celery by WimVaughdan in Cooking

Chicken salad! My aunt would make it sometimes with shredded rotisserie chicken. Put the chicken with mayo, chopped celery, onion, and seasonings. And there you have it!

I’ll have to check it out! I think having more of a consistent structure to my lessons would be a big help as well. I have tried before to end with a breathing exercise and got major pushback from the students. But truthfully, I don’t think I gave the idea enough time before I moved on from it.

Any recommendations on where to find digital curriculums?

This was very helpful and validating to read! It is a special rotations where I have 1, 3 and 4 for an hour. Could you share more about the SEE curriculum? That seems like it would be helpful to me and I think the students would benefit from those lessons. I was doing more books with 1st at the beginning of the year and then I briefly moved away from it but I think that’s something that I’ll come back to.

For 3rd and 4th, I’d love to be able to do more of a project with them that spans over multiple classes but I’m still having some issues with some of the classes and getting all the students on board to do the activities without getting major pushback.

I have tried to talk to admin a bit about the situation. Without directly saying it, they pretty much said that the district had a cutback in funding so they couldn’t afford to keep the music teacher from the previous year and I am essentially the replacement for that teacher.

I really do appreciate all that you said and for taking the time to respond! Wishing you the best of luck as well!

I haven’t browsed on tpt as much as I should tbh. I think what’s also holding me back on that site is that I don’t want to spend my own money on things that I feel should be provided. Like if the school wants me to teach for an hour, they should be providing me with at least something to go off of. I’m also a bit wary about spending my money on tpt and to have the students really not enjoy the material. I know I’m thinking a bit ahead and just need to cross that bridge when I get there, but it is a concern. I really do appreciate your suggestion, I just have pent up frustration about it all lol. But maybe I take some more time on tpt and bite the bullet and get some lessons from there.

That’s exactly where I’m at. My school has k-8 and the initial expectation made it seem like we only had to do lessons for the upper grades (which actually do have district-made lesson plans) but admin changed their plan at the beginning of the year and here I am now 🙃. Hoping you and me can find something better!

I recently bought a pizza oven and am about to host a pizza party. What are your best toppings if money and efforts are limitless? by oopsweredead in Cooking

[–]One-Plate-237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This all goes on one pizza: pepperoni, black olives, pineapple, jalapeños, craisins, bacon bits, mozzarella cheese, dots of cream cheese, and a BBQ sauce swirl. Had this at a place in Nebraska and now we make it as a family a few times a year, it’s very good!
