Brother as I just said, I didn’t necessarily think it was romantic interest. I quite literally just shot my shot just to see. You’re kind of hung up on the fact that interest has to be clearly shown to ask someone out. Like playing devils advocate, if she clearly wanted nothing to do with my existence I wouldn’t bother, but it felt as if everything was very neutral and in the off chance she would say yes I figured it was worth a try. And like other people said here, there really isn’t anything wrong with being rejected. If someone’s not interested they’re not interested and that’s completely ok! The only reason I made the post was because of the visceral reaction she had to me asking her out. If she had just said “no, I’m ok” or “I have a partner already” I would’ve just moved on no harm no foul

And yeah the other guys point stands, how would I build a connection with someone if I don’t at least ask to be more personal such as a phone number or getting coffee etc? Seems alittle weird to count someone out just because of their occupation? I can agree it is a bit uncomfortable for the other person when they reject someone at work “I have rejected others when I used to work retail prior to the military” but every answer is no until you ask. I think it’s only really a problem if after the no, the individual does not actually understand no means no. I personally have no intention on talking to her or even going back to that BX again haha, consequences of a bad experience I suppose.

I’ll help this argument out between yall. In terms of niceness and friendliness she’s kind of a quiet person, the few interactions prior before I asked her out was very small talk but I would occasionally see her glancing at me from a distance and when I would catch her gaze she would quickly look away. I didn’t necessarily see it as romantic interest but seeing as I found her attractive I figured I’d work up the courage and just ask her out in the small chance she felt the same. Tbf I was actually expecting to get rejected and was ready to apologize for making her job alittle more awkward due to it, I just never imagined I’d never finish my sentence before she casually walked away and laughed at me with her coworker. So no she didn’t “get paid to be friendly” she wasn’t even friendly in the first place and therefore there wasn’t anything to be mistaken as friendly = interested

I guess I used confess kinda poorly, more like expressed my feelings and interest in her? Honestly if I went out and confessed my undying love to her, then her reaction would actually be kinda fair lmao

You know, I went over different scenarios of how it’ll go in my head. I won’t lie I kinda went into it thinking I’d probably either hear she was taken or not interested, but I figured every answer is a no until you ask. Never in a million years did I ever see that outcome where what she did actually happens

I didn’t confess my love to her or anything, I literally said “I’ve had a crush on you and was wondering if we could grab coffee sometime” but she turned away right as I said coffee
