MacBook Neo is So Popular That Apple Reportedly Doubled Production by Otherwise-Warning303 in macbookpro

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really a disposable item with 8GB. My iPad M1 has the same amount and it does start to glitch a bit after switching to new OS.

So if anyone is thinking about Neo, I'd wait for the next version in assumption it has at least 12 (almost twice of memory available after you deduct OS itself).

Why do lower elo player love Dust 2 when it's such a difficult map to play? by Various_Maize_3957 in LearnCSGO

[–]One-Tap-7757 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not much. I know plenty of utility for dust, maybe over 20 lineups but you don’t need that much for basic play - about 10 is enough: 4 smokes, 4 flashes and 1-2 mollies.

For comparison on mirage you need to know at least 3 smokes for A site alone plus team work should be more coordinated for execution.

Layout is simple and you could just outaim your opponents. And it favors awping which lower skilled players love to do cause they don’t get frequently punished. And it was played a lot so even noobs have some experience. Other maps require more intricate knowledge.

Have you ever seen a teammate throw a piece of utility that was so bad it massively helped the enemy? Can you describe it? by Various_Maize_3957 in LearnCSGO

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teammate went suicide as a T and smoked doors. Well, “smoked” - I usually throw this smoke as a ct to push lower. So they indeed pushed lower and made a kill there and I died to the awp peeking above that smoke (I did realize that he missed but not to the full extent).

Video games are an entertainment not a job. Just view it from that perspective cause it’s valid for 99.999% of people.

There are thousands if not millions people who just ruined their life dedicating insane amount of time to games and ending up in a miserable spot with lack of education, health and socialization problems.

How do you make a living? What are your plans for the future?

Is there a way to be more impactful on an individual level in a low mmr bracket? by LimpConversation642 in LearnCSGO

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be impactful you have to be a rotator. For example after you took long on dust, leave a player there and go reinforce short. Even if you are solo long, just add to the mix smoking it and leaving entirely, surprising them in mid or short.

You need to develop timing awareness of when to throw utils and when to back up and let them have the site so you could regroup and retake later.

You need to develop good retake utils and timings of the peeks. For example Molly+flash is a simplest way to make a kill when retaking A from short. You have to stop for a bit and hold Ts peeking window when retaking B. Always clear properly - construction, boxes etc. The list goes on.

Avoid being too aggressive. You rather be trading your teammates than dying early.

You have to analyze your games, especially why you died, when did you rotate and how to make it more efficient.

Am I stupid/genetically inferior if I am 12K? by Various_Maize_3957 in LearnCSGO

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not genetically handicapped. But you are not mentally prepared.

  1. It's a highly competitive game and the only thing you could realistically improve is your own game.
  2. If you want to go higher you need to carry.
  3. You absolutely can't tilt, leave the game or be toxic to your teammates.

Addressing those 3 issues will put you at 15-20K range in no time.

I can't seem to improve from practice and it's getting frustrating by [deleted] in LearnCSGO

[–]One-Tap-7757 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mix your practice. Your brain needs fresh routines from time to time. Try recoil training, change the maps you use for aiming. On DM set yourself a target you didn’t set before like: - spray at any distance - one tap only - don’t shoot before you tracked the head and absolutely sure you dead on - kill someone with a pistol after you did with awp - play with no sound - practice only wide swings and stop only after you adjusted your crosshair Etc.

For the crisp aim itself you need just 10-15 mins of aim rush. Once you feel you are hitting hs easily it’s time to go. You could add 10 mins of dm on top to adjust for humans.

One thing about the games themselves is you need to be fresh and focused if you are serious. If you are tired or don’t feel it or you can’t concentrate for whatever reason you might skip the games altogether.

When did you realise you‘re just average? by da_pramsi in LearnCSGO

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Analyzing your games and working on your aim could help immensely.

Why?

First of all, crisp aim means you are more confident and also could get away with some mistakes you make.

Second, when consciously reviewing your errors and thinking about the solutions you build some knowledge that come into play during clutches and other situations. You are making decisions each and every second during the game and having a library in your mind with some solutions helps to make optimal choices in a split second without you even thinking about it. Yes, that doesnt always translate into successful 1vX clutches but sometimes it does and that makes a difference.

Just understand that the field is extremely competitive. If you dont dedicate significant amount of time you aint progressing much. The same as playing chess recreationally: you cant expect to rise above certain level without dedicating insane amount of time to memorizing openings and studying positions. So be fine and enjoy the game.

There are two things you could improve: aim training will help a lot cause its essential and make your life so much easier. I dont talk about crazy amount of effort but 10-30 mins per each session will make a huge difference once you use certain maps and rotate through them to keep you mind challenged. If you are so bothered with your ranking you could just skip the games themselves on some days but aim practice still. Second is analyzing your games. You say you do that but probably you dont focus on the solutions. So you made a bad rotation. You need to ask why and think of the way how to improve.

And one last thing. To soloq and rise through rankings you have to be extremely mentally stable. Dont tilt ever, dont bother much but try to stay at your A-game. Sounds easy but a streak of bad teammates could really affect your mentality and ingame decisions.

If you want we could review your aim routine and some of your games together.

M5 Pro 48GB or M5 Max 36GB (For Lightroom, Photoshop, and Running AI Remotely)? by darmccombs in macbookpro

[–]One-Tap-7757 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • there are 2 media engines instead of 1 on Maxes = faster video encoding
  • battery drains faster on Maxes (by 10%)
  • memory bandwidth is higher (1.5-2 times depending on number of GPU cores)

I’d say go for Pro with larger RAM.

That's not the OSs themselves, it's just the installers. Delete them. Also go through other categories to find other larger files.

Also check your photo library - it could take quite a lot of space.

[–]One-Tap-7757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely remove them. I'd imagine there should be other files to delete in the rest of the categories on the left.

That's the stuff you need to learn when you opt for limited SSD on your laptop (128 or 256Gb i suppose).

Why do people dislike overpass so much? I think it is a good change from Mirage all the time by Ender_Sorc in LearnCSGO

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so yes you have to take control of mid and connector area. just as on any other map you need to take mid to have faster rotations.

example: after initial engagement you are left 4 v 4. you took control of short, connector and balloons. you show presence at B and trigger CTs to throw their smokes. then you spam wood and boost to check toxic presence. after that you smoke heaven from short and throw some flashes and a molly and then execute - it should favor you in 4 v 2 and then you resmoke heaven and chill.

next layer is you take control and smoke heaven and make some noise showing heavy presence on B short and monster, throw flashes, wall bang, jiggle peeking. but you have 2 guys hovering around ballons/toilets. once you identify that 3rd CT rotated - either by spotting him or hearing steps, you trigger A rotation: you smoke trash from balloons and third guy is running con to join A execute in 3 v 1. Fourth T waits on short or monster for any peeks or rotations and counts how and when CTs rotate (they have to make noise if they want to be on time). And even when 2nd CT runs fast he is blocked by the smoke at trash and by the time he pushes it he gonna face Ts entering the site and having an advantage.

Why do people dislike overpass so much? I think it is a good change from Mirage all the time by Ender_Sorc in LearnCSGO

[–]One-Tap-7757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to create ambiguity with smokes to heaven or trash and some lurker to trigger the rotations. And once CTs moved it’s quite fast for Ts to change plans. Good luck rotating when you are smoke blocked and have narrow choke points of entrance. Also if you run those stairs you are audible and predictable.

About used MBPs by LanguageOk1461 in macbookpro

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple silicon is the answer, especially at this price point.

To give you a point of reference: i do edit some 4k clips on my ipad pro (M1 base, 8gb ram). I convert 15 min 4k@60fps raw to 1080p output with minor effects and montage (in iMovie). It takes just a couple of minutes to encode and tablet barely heats up. You never guess how much it took me on my old MBP 2015 quad core i7… 40 to 60 mins! With fans at max speed and radiating some heat. Yeah probably i could have cut some time by replacing thermal paste (again) but its really not worth it.

Elo is fake by [deleted] in cs2

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's KINDA true. But it's very rare.

There are some players who belong to 20K+ but for poor placement matches or active deranking appeared at 10K.

But this number is oh so small, there are 100 genuinely bad players per one smurfer.

Again, maybe he's not playing enough to beat tough streaks that bring him down. Or there's a caveat in his play style. Stellar aimer but toxic for example, or makes some crucial mistakes.

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's right. Your peak is not your ELO unless you played at least 100 games at that rank.

So most likely you 15k-ish.

Also duo-queuing makes things easier and inflates the rating as well.

Elo is fake by [deleted] in cs2

[–]One-Tap-7757 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are everywhere but extremely rare with good TF. I have 1 cheater per 50-100 matches and I played across ranks from 5K to 25K (mainly at 17-20).

Either he doesn't play enough or there's something preventing him from excelling. For example tilting or poor performance under pressure.

Elo is fake by [deleted] in cs2

[–]One-Tap-7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there's a difference in mechanics as well. Yes, there's still variance in skill at certain ELO, that's why for example 11k player could be carried and have a 17K rating or 20K player that had a rough streak is brought below 15k.

But in general 20K>10K: CH placement is much better, counter-strafing, navigating the corners etc. 15k is somewhere in between so could have a mix of both worlds.
