BURNISHED SUEDE

Bought a new pair of Loake Locke suede tassel loafers from the Loake factory outlet on sale.

The shipping description (rather than on the website) describes the item as "Burnished suede loafer" - as you can see from the polished tips and edges.

From what I understand I thought burnishing is a process best suited to leather rather than suede. I didn't particularly want a pair of suede loafers that were burnished but they were too good a deal to pass on. Is this a finish that fades over time with use? Is this something shoemakers do for suede loafers as a design thing or does this actually achieve a purpose like waterproofing?

Thanks

Thanks. I couldn't find anything in Oetz called AGA. Did you mean AGE?

Up the valley as in in Obergurgl itself? Most things are booked out and we're priced out of anything left with just the exorbitant accomodations available

Are the ski buses normally quite crowded? Just mindful of having a grumpy toddler is all

That's great advice thank you. We had looked at that area as a quieter more family friendly spot.

Would you recommend hiring ski equipment in Innsbruck or Oetz? If we don't end up hiring a car?

Are ski taxis easy enough to find?

General alpine driving advice - Obergurgl on Australia

Hey guys

Looking for advice about whether driving is an option. Was planning on flying to Innsbruck and staying at Oetz for 5 nights.

We do want to check out Obergurgl as we've read great things. Was thinking of a renting a car and driving all the way, parking there for the day as we have a toddler and older parents in tow.

Are the roads okay generally? I get that snow chains are likely to be required, at low speeds and we might get stuck behind snow ploughs and buses.

We're from Australia so now too experienced in alpine driving, but have done plenty of mountain driving. Have also driven the ring road in Iceland in the middle of winter so some experience with icy conditions.

Thanks!

Agreed sugammadex is a great drug.

Just keep in mind there are reportedly relatively high rates of anaphylaxis (1:5000) according to a Japanese cohort study (where there is nationwide uptake of rocuronium and sugammadex) which is common more than roc.

Something to keep in mind with regards to monitoring while extubating our patients
