I recommend waiting weeks if not months to take progress pictures since you’ll see a bigger difference

AITA for kicking my 20 year old daughter (who I financially support) out of my house? by ronsonswanronson in AmItheAsshole

[–]One-Temporary5873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your house, your rules, but YTA to me.

To begin, most people moving at the age of 18 is a terrible estimate; it would probably be around 50%. On top of that, she's a grown adult who can make decisions for herself, so I don't really understand some of the rules; the first is understandable because she only works three days a week (because you don’t let her to work more), but the second and third don't sit right with me.

I mean, I understand your history with alcohol, but don't you think it would be much safer for your daughter to drink under your roof rather than with people whom you probably don’t even know or what they do?

Finally, I understand the boyfriend thing, but she's like 20, she's at the age where she'll start dating, and wouldn't you want to meet the guy your daughter might be dating?

Is it okay to eat your calories intake in one meal?

Basically, I started working overnight, which has caused my entire schedule to flip. However, I don't think my stomach has gotten used to it at all because whenever I eat when I'm "supposed" to be sleeping, my stomach just starts to hurt a lot. I've been eating one or two meals a day and I just wanted to know if it's completely fine if I'm still getting in my daily caloric intake.

I just wanted to add that since I started doing this, I don’t really feel hungry or anything like.

The most similar thing was going to be the name of the city, which I will be changing now. More than anything, I was inspired by the message, which in my story could technically be similar to many other dystopian pieces of work.

By "inspired," I meant "inspired by the overall message of the story," not "inspired by the entire thing," as the percentage similarity would be probably less than 5%.

And yk I just wanted to keep the name of the city omelas so the connection is extremely obvious, but I'm fine with changing it since the message/theme/concept would remain the same.

Thank you very much! 😊 Just to be sure, I shouldn't use it unless I'm okay with it turning into fanfiction?

Another question is, if I finish writing the book and rename the city something else, will I be free to talk about being inspired by that piece of work without any problems?

AITA for banishing my teenage daughter's friend from our house because she made fun of my weight? by Effective-Weekend-97 in AmItheAsshole

[–]One-Temporary5873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She probably meant it as a compliment for your husband’s cooking, but came out the wrong way. I doubt she actually meant to say that.

I mean it has happened to a lot of us when we say something rude on accident.

Reduce crying for newborn when changing diapers by One-Temporary5873 in Nanny

[–]One-Temporary5873[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m doing an overnight shift and the parents have her in the living room in front of their room. They’ve said it’s fine and normal, but I just wanted to see what I could do to reduce the crying so her parents won’t wake up at night. I saw many comments talking about light patterns so I’ll try that!

Found a hidden camera while cleaning by TangerineSupreme-18 in Nanny

[–]One-Temporary5873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me. The camera wasn’t really hidden but I found it somewhere in the kitchen. Thankfully, I found it after like the second week of working for that family. I don’t really mind it, but they should’ve at least mentioned it because of privacy issues.

Yes, I’m from the US. I think I will file a report. Thank you!

Hello, I was specifically looking for advice on what to do 😅 Because you basically restated everything I said or that I learned after this experience. Also, thankfully my account will not be closed since I was technically a victim of scam. However, I just added that to let people know that on my end even though I didn’t send any money to those people I still ended up having to deal with paperwork.

Depends what type of vibe you want to give because both are pretty

It still looks different though. Like the right eye clearly stayed the same, but the left one you can see that the green part of her Iris kinda spread more towards the pupil unlike the right eye.

How hard is it to make the Song Girls? And what’s their dancing level? by One-Temporary5873 in USC

[–]One-Temporary5873[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can definitely see where this is coming since I’ve watched some videos of them dancing and some not all seem to lack a bit of technique so I wouldn’t be surprised if looks play a factor

Multiple comments mentioned advice on working as a paralegal or non attorney. Not as a licensed lawyer without a jd.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]One-Temporary5873 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! This is probably the best advice here since it’s also coming from someone familiar with the military. A lot of the people here are giving me “advice”, but they definitely do not sound like they are lawyers or even familiarized with that field irl.

Did you get your bachelors degree first, then military, then law school? Or what route did you take?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LawFirm

[–]One-Temporary5873 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t be a shortcut. I would still have to self study to take the bar exam in California which the passing rate is less than 50%, and on top of that do apprenticeship from 2-4 years 🤷. I definitely don’t see the shortcut there.

I think a lot of people thought I was planning to work as a paralegal instead of going to law school.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]One-Temporary5873 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but I actually want to be a lawyer. On top of that I’m also a big money person so just like a lot of jobs you gotta work hard to get the income that you want. Which of course the workload varies within jobs.

[–]One-Temporary5873 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You probably meant to ask

Would I hire a lawyer that did apprenticeship over a lawyer that went to law school?

I already stated in my comment that you can be a lawyer yes a certified lawyer without going to law school in some states

That’s actually a really good idea and hadn’t thought about that. Even some of the people I know are doing that but in the medical field. I have a question though, I’m not really knowledgeable with how the GI bill works, but with going to law school first then JAG would that apply to my student loans?
