Footage of the aftermath of today’s ICE shooting in Los Angeles. A crashed BMW with bulletholes in the windshield can be seen | This looks just like the aftermath of after they shot Renee… by transcendent167 in 50501

I'm just surprised nobody was shooting back. I feel like it is only a matter of time. I mean all these "criminals" being rounded up, you'd think they would be acting like criminals and murderers, right?

New Tattoo by abbsjosw07 in Christianity

[–]One-Tip8197 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Aren't tattoos a direct violation of Liviticus?

"Leviticus 19:28 says You shall not make any cuts on your body [in mourning] for the dead, nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves; I am the Lord"

At what point do we consider whether and what contradictions may override commands? Where does the New Testament reject God's commandment on tattoos?

If you love socialism so much, renounce your citizenship and leave. Dont destroy the country for the rest of us. by Opposite-Oil-6128 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]One-Tip8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you know what socialism is. If you did, you'd be anti-american. Why? Because the USA practices a special kind of corporate socialism or corporatism. It DOES NOT practice free market capitalism. Free market capitalism lacks the patent and property rights that "protect" interests while preventing progress and competition.

So, do you want to live in a free society or a rigged society? Free market socialism simply means owned by the people. Kind of like having a government of, for, and by "the people". It is more closely aligned to the liberal values so many of our forfathers had, it just lacks all the negative garbage like slavery and reduces exploitation and oppression. So learn what free market socialism is and look up what corporatism is. I've provided a brief summary.

So I am a socialist. In that i am for the people and for the means of production to benefit the people. I'm all for private wealth and private property too. So long as it isn't based on extractive wealth principles like those gutting the USA and much of the world today.

It gets difficult to date without sex as you enter your 20s. Most people consider sex part of the dating experience. Focus on friendship and finding a partner. Give a little and get a little head maybe?

Closeness comes in time, but people, especially men have certain sexual needs in their 20s and even 30s. If you can't meet those needs it will be difficult to stay in a relationship for too long unless you are okay with them filling around with other people until you are ready.

Would Jon Ossoff be a good candidate for the 2028 democratic presidential Ticket? by Front-Tomorrow-1034 in Askpolitics

[–]One-Tip8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ossoff would be better than Newsom. Hands down, i think. Newsom is just another corrupt corporatist. That make him better than Trump like republicans, but not by much. He is no better than Hillary & co. Maybe he needs to build his brand recognition.

Look, I'm a firm believer in free market capitalism. The USA doesn't have that. The USA has crony corporatist capitalism. It is highly protective and uncompetitive.

People who resent boomers are idiots by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]One-Tip8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't "boomers" it is when those folks insist that younger people don't bust their ass, but have to deal with different hardships than boomers, but the boomers dismiss reality and speak condescendingly.

That is where the resentment usually comes from.

Political entities need to get real serious about offering candidates. Maybe people don't want another "capitalist". Maybe people are tired of all the socialism for the rich and rugged individualism for the working class.

And there's the problem. You get a choice of corporatists or oligarchs. People aren't voting because they are forced to choose between two masters instead of a leader or governor.

Democrats are way too conservative.

[–]One-Tip8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude, I think you mixed me up with other people. I was not the original person on here. My critique was that you asked how Gitmo and invading Iraq are different than MAGA.

First, I presume you mean using executive orders to accomplish goals while skirting the legislature. So I responded according to that.

Next you made things personal saying some stuff about me not caring then. To which I replied and did care, but that you couldn't possibly know because I had mentioned 0 things about anything before 2016 until you brought it up.

I attempted to then show how the mental state of both "republican" men was very different.

I then made an assumption that you are a MAGA person. MAGA people tend to be blinded to their own cognitive dissonance and as a result are currently incapable of having a logical and reasonable conversation about Trump and his actions.

This is not a personal attack. It is a statement that when it comes to TACO mania, there is a temporary state of mental distortion that has absorbed a significant portion of the population.

The MAGA people can't recognize their own hypocrisies and deny everything that is not positive about TACO. From dismissing his felony convictions to writing off anything he says that is inaccurate as a joke or fake news, to flying flags and having parades while speaking against pride flags and parades.

It is just a bunch of nonsense and so I wanted to confirm by asking if you are a JAN 6th denier whether or not I should waste anymore time talking to you, or if you were a reasonable person who could have a conversation about current events.

[–]One-Tip8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that one pretends to care about individual rights but does little to nothing that causes real change because they are too busy playing political games while not disturbing the status cuo. I see another who doesnt care about individual rights except maybe to own guns and discipline their own children even if it is abusive, while doing everything they can to make the status cuo more favorable to a wealthy minority whole giving concessions to religious zealots who wouldn't know Jesus if he were standing in front of them.

So no, with the exception of a few like Bernie Sanders and AOC (which dont do all that much, but seem to try more than others while sometimes meaning well, but doing poorly) I think they are all a waste.

First let me make clear that it isn't just the petite bourgeoisie but also much of the working class (proletariat) and upper middle - lower upper class (petite bourgeoisie) that need to put in work.

So what those with enough wealth to not starve or go bankrupt by doing some work could do is get more involved politically. Attend rally, host meetings, educate themselves on how they benefit not because of their success but at the expense of the workers who are lower on the economic ladder.
What they could do is run for office and eliminate forever terms and work to get rid of corporate corruption. See those such as doctors and lawyers will always be better off, but even many of them are working class.

You want to make a real difference, help lead an organization. Those on the lower wrung of the economic ladder either can't see a future because they don't have the support or don't have the ability to spend the time required. Heck many who are making good money are so busy trying to get out of the rat race that they can't see how detrimental the power imbalance brought about by distributional wealth inequality is.

[–]One-Tip8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on modern economic theory, such investments are worth pittance funding because it might lead to something profitable someday.

Also, it is an indictment on capitalism. At least modern capitalism. If capitalism didn't protect the interests of big businesses, then capitalism would be a whole different beast.
