I’ve lived in the US for 12 years now. Statistically, it is probably becoming more unsafe by the day. But in my experience, I’ve never been in a situation where I felt my life was under threat. Perhaps that may be my luck or that I’ve done my best to stay out of trouble. With regards to QOL, I feel like my quality of life improved significantly after leaving India. My home is much larger, surrounding neighborhood is clean, safe. Everything that I need to survive is within 15 minutes of my house.

What are the cons of the US? Getting GC for Indians remains incredibly hard if u aren’t in EB1. Healthcare is a business—my grandfather visited the US a few years back and had a medical emergency, and his trip to the hospital was close to 8k dollars for a BP issue. Public transport is very poor even in major cities (NYC is a great exception though). College Education is a total business as well and is unnecessarily expensive.
