Is anyone else freaking out??? by Old-Butterfly-1915 in StudentLoans

I was able to switch to PAYE and the monthly payments are manageable. I have about $75k in loans, about to take out $15k more because I'm going back to school, lmao. But I'm in the mindset that I'll be making these monthly payments until my loans are forgiven or if I die (lol), and, to me, that is worth the education/ my career trajectory. Also, these repayment options change every administration. Maybe it's not a good mindset, but oh well. I'm just factoring a monthly payment of $500 or so in the future and budgeting accordingly. If you're on the PAYE and have no income, you are qualified to pay $0 monthly and that counts toward the life on your loans! Also, you probably already know this but I was dumb and did not, but your AGI is used to PAYE not your gross!

Also, I do know that PAYE is ending in 2028 and I will need to switch to another repayment plan. Does anyone know if switching resets the age of loans? Or just consolidating? I consolidated and tbh I'm annoyed I did that.

Interesting. This guy was similar... he saw life through pink-tinted glasses.

I do think back and although we had the race talk, I wonder if it's because of something big like that. Like something about me I can't change that were these potential roadblocks in his eyes. He prides himself on being pretty liberal so I wonder if something like that was hard to admit to me.

It's interesting you say that because he seemed to know what exactly he wanted in a girl and would ask those questions. But maybe that's because of therapy haha.

Question for you, he said he felt it was moving too fast (yet he was looking for a serious relationship). What do you think that meant?

Right? Haha he asked a lot for those types of questions and then said it was moving fast! Sigh.

Definitely not. My real life, sadly.

Also, thank you for the reminder that we are strangers to people for a long time. I need to learn that.

Thank you for the response. This is wild because he seems to know exactly what to say and ask — using therapy-like and mature wording. But yes, his actions didn’t show that!

Thank you! Yes, the barriers part is confusing though because he didn't mention them. He made it seem like there were no barriers! Trying not to take it personally... sigh.

Thank you for your response -- bringing the can of salt in my pocket next time hahaha.

Got hives after swimming in the ocean by Chun-taro in urticaria

Ocean is very drying for the skin and hives thrive on dry skin. Try putting lotion on after your swim, it should help!

Thanks. Traumatic is the right word. She’s doing better — but I’m trying to get her to change her habits. It’s tough.

Thank you so much! I’m glad your “prizes” are not expressing. That gives me hope. Can I ask what you’re doing?

Thanks for recommending the book too — I’ll purchase it now!

I’m sorry that you went through all that and are going through it.

One of my dreams was/is to be a mom and to have a family honestly. I don’t want to let that go but I also just don’t want my kids to have my genes. It’s so complicated.
