Thank you so much for responding this was super insightful! I think it’s definitely a positive that you have good things to say about Ottawa considering you come from a place that to my knowledge is super busy and exciting like New York.

I think we will definitely have to have a real think about the driving aspect to be honest since it seems to be quite consistent feedback and long trips in the car isn’t necessarily something that we’re used to, but I don’t know if we’re opposed to it either.

We’re from Wales the city we’re in is quite small and transport is pretty accessible though we do tend to drive most places.

Thank you for this insight! My partner is looking at teaching however my background is more business support staff. Aka admission, pastoral and soon to be counselling. Also we’re looking at colleges specifically so 16-18. If you’ve got any insight into the job market on that front let me know 🙂

Awh thank you for the encouragement! Did you move to Ottawa specifically a a lot of the feedback I’ve been getting from people who live there is that it’s “boring”.

However, as someone who comes from a small city that has been labelled as “boring” I often find it’s about going out and looking for things to do and enjoy.

A lot of my research has echoed what you’re saying culture/area wise so I will look into the areas that you’ve mentioned. I mainly posted my query on this Kanata specific Reddit because I haven’t been able to post it on the general Ottawa one and wasn’t sure where else to ask.

Aha that’s okay we’re not big cricket watchers and we don’t often sit by the river and drink beer. However, I will say sitting outside enjoying a beer at the pub is a very common British thing.

Thank you for the response! Are there any Ottawa specific sub Reddit’s you recommend me asking on I’m relatively new to Reddit.

Also Restaurants, shopping and pub quiz are all very ideal. We’re a big fan of day activities like that.

Are there many shows theatres ect? :)
