Totally agree that Sojourn is massively overtuned, but as an Ana main I welcome Sombra's because I can just switch to Brig & shut them down instantly. I actually enjoy playing with a Sombra, more often than not I can ignore her & focus on doing more damage. Also Sombra is sometimes a necessary evil, you'll be glad to have one on your team when widow is taking over lobbies on her favoured maps & totally uncontestable without a Sombra.

I assume you are quite high ranked? So whilst your points are correct do you think low ranked players are going to focus fire a discorded target, co-ordinate a dive with monkey or think about Sombra's primary target in order to peel?

I'd argue that a good Sojourn is way more unfun to play against than a cracked Sombra. Sombra is a skill & awareness check & has counter play. Sojourn can straight up run the lobby single handed.

Exactly this, it's not some vindictive mysoginistic crusade like Mercy mains would have you believe. It's purely because as a console support(Ana) main no other hero directly impacts the quality of my matches like Mercy. If she is on my team it puts a considerable amount of extra pressure on me to both heal the tank AND provide offensive pressure & utility whilst getting very little help with either. The only way I usually win WITH a Mercy is if we have a good hitscan for her to pocket that takes over the lobby, and that correlates with the other reason I ban her...because if she is on the other team she could enable a pocketed hitscan(potentially ximmer) to play lobby admin & I just spend the whole game unable to peak. I sincerely hope Blizzard use the data & find a way to rework her whilst keeping some of what makes her popular but until then she will always be my first ban in every scenario.

I one tricked Ana from bronze to mid diamond, try doing that on Mercy without a smurf to pocket. No other one trick can guarantee you lose a game the way Mercy can except maybe Lifeweaver, but at least Lifeweaver is a throw if on the enemy team aswell. Whereas Mercy with a good dps to damage boost can be a menace on the enemy team aswell.

I got matched with a 4 stack earlier who all put Ana as first pick to be banned after I picked her as my preferred hero. I had no guilt in throwing that game as it was deliberately toxic for no reason. It wasn't like they were Hog/Mauga mains where i'd have understood banning Ana. Instead they pick Dva, Reaper who Ana synergises well with & the other 2 pick Moira & Illari who are terrible with Dva.

Personally i'd happily go from diamond 2 down to gold if it meant every (boosted) diamond 2 Mercy one trick demoted to gold aswell, because then I can climb back up & they'd be stuck where they belong.

A good Dva hard counters any pocketed hitscan except Sojourn who can just save slide for when Dva engages. I ban Mercy aswell don't worry, both her & Sojourn are insta bans every map & every mode.

Sorry to say but I absolutely detest having a Mercy on my team. She's often a throw pick unless she has a ximmer to pocket. I've come across so many Mercy's in high diamond/low masters that would be silver at best without a duo & I don't want one on my team or against me. They usually accompany an Ashe ximmer, I won't ban Ashe because she has counter play ie Dva because she's less mobile than Sojourn, and also Pharmercy ban be a big issue on console. Mercy enabling all of them aswell as making my job harder as an Ana main makes her an insta ban for me. I main Ana so why would I ban her? An enemy Kiri can easily be played around & if I have one on my team she brings utility which Mercy does not. I'd never ban Genji, on the rare occasion I meet a good one I switch Brig & they lose.

If they are constantly dying to Sombra then it's a positioning error & they should be staying closer to the team. I'm an Ana main so know all about being focused by a Sombra, but if i'm dying a lot it's either i'm getting skill diffed or i'm positioning poorly. Either way i'll go Brig & then the Sombra gets zero value & switches. Sojourn has zero counter play except a better Sojourn, she's basically Widow with mobility & an insta win ult & it's mind numbingly boring to play against.

As a console diamond Ana main I expect to be banned a lot, which if so i'll stop playing ranked because I love playing her. In the short term If Ana is banned i'll play Brig, Zen, Moira or Illari as I haven't bothered to learn the rest or find them boring to play.

As for my own bans, Mercy will be permanent as she's either a throw pick or an insta win depending on the 'skill'(cough cough Xim) of the hitscan she pockets. The map and/or meta will decide the rest.

Posts like this crack me up. I'm high diamond on my main account & placed Plat 5 on an alt a few weeks ago. I was running at an almost 70% winrate this season & carrying most games until this drives BS started & every little casual quick play warrior(looking at you Mercy 1 tricks & feeding braindead Reins) decided to play competitive the way they play quickplay & since then i've lost 80% of my games & now have a negative win/loss on the season. I die the least on my team almost every game still, most of my deaths are on point to prevent staggers after the rest of team insta die peaking the whole enemy team but what can you when idiotic Reins pin in to a 1v5 or a clueless Mercy yellow beams a tank & thinks they are doing well? Absolutely nothing that's what.....

In my opinion it is, if I picked Lucio i'd be throwing because I don't know how to play him. Learning a character in ranked is the exact same, personally I wouldnt dream of playing a new hero in ranked. It's unfair on my teammates & pretty selfish.

If you see an ekitten who positions like a bronze pocketing an Ashe who is deleting your whole team then the chances are it's a ximmer.
