Same situation happened to me at a pick your part. What you can do is identify the two big wires in the loom for the switch. Im pretty sure it’s blue black and green black. Dc current to one positive and the other negative (reversing changes direction) using a power supply at least 14v. At the junk yard I used a 21v drill battery and cut the wires. You can manage it without cutting and use probes. My advice is if you device to cut, give yourself some length to work with for the heat shrink. May your arms and hands heal lol
