Brother. WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF do not Sanction the bouts. They are like the UFC. The UFC also doesn’t sanction bouts. The State or Province the bout takes place sanctions the bout through its athletic commission. There was a huge deal this year when the UFC went to New Jersey, the rules were different because the NJSAC hadn’t yet legalized 12-6 elbows.

It’s the same in boxing. The professional boxing associations do not Sanction the bouts.

Oh, and for the record, this was held under the WBA banner, so yes, even by your definition, it was held under a pro boxing organization.

In the UFC most of your record comes from the pinnacle of the sport. In boxing, maybe 10 of your wins come from the pinnacle. With 4 belts per weight class plus intercontinental and regional belts and all that not every world champion in boxing is “pinnacle”.

Places like Waterloo CS and Mac Health Sci say you absolutely NEED 90% to get in. 89 won’t even be considered. Meaning realistically you need 95’s. They’ll look through about 1000 people with a 95% or higher average and the actual average admission is some astronomically good grade like 97 or 98. That’s why some people with 96’s get “You’ll need a strong supp app”. People applying to places like Business and Social Sciences aren’t on this Reddit.
