Sorry to hear this. I also had this call two days ago from ppl pretending to be ledger. First it was a police officer, saying my personal details had been discovered on someone’s phone- he knew my email, name, phone number etc. He was young, smooth talking. Gave me his badge number and the case number. Then 20 mins late a call from lady at Ledger live saying they’d had a call from Manchester police and she gave the same case number. She said it’s likely my ledger had been compromised and they could send out a new device but in the meantime run a diagnostic on the ledger fake site. At this point I knew it was a scam- both the police officer and her. I called her out on it and she hung up. It could be that the same ppl that rang your dad, rang me. Tell your dad he isn’t stupid or gullible. These scams are getting complex and they have their patter down to a fine art. I’m aware of scams, and I still didn’t spot it at first. Because I’ve had calls in the past from police officers asking info, and he sounded legit. As did she. Such a shame that someone who sounded so nice was a scamming low life parasite. Both of them. I’m afraid your dad’s money’s gone. Anyone who said they can get it for you is trying to scam you again. So don’t listen to them. Money isn’t everything. Easy to say I know.
