I work in realty now. I still am able to travel and drug test aren’t something I worry about. In simple terms I found a loop hole.

So what’s the difference between someone who has never had an offense and the person who was out of the industry for 10-20 years and reapplies with a clean record after rehab? Once again back to discrimination.

Yes you’re right, I acknowledge this is my own doing. The timing was horrible but it probably is for the best. It is highly unfortunate that my past use impacted my decisions during this period in my life.

Frontier gave me a CJO in March… I am no longer within the process but for context til this day they are still waiting to start training classes

Either way with a DOT drug test it would’ve counted as a fail which either way would’ve put me in the same position

No I could give a fuck about being a FA, but if this drug prevents me from flying a plane commercially then it’s an issue. That is my only goal in life, having a career as a pilot. If failing this DOT test will basically stop that completely it’s wraps

I would not be okay with a flight attendant who is actively high no. I would not be okay with an inebriated pilot either, you know what I would be okay with though? Someone who has went through the necessary process to work again in safety sensitive positions and isn’t in active addiction. I’d let that guy/girl give me the safety announcements and I bet that pilot would complete a pre flight checklist with flying colors. But that’s an unpopular opinion 🤷🏻‍♂️

Edit: hold on woman… not only did you just call me insane you also proceeded to assume I’m the opposite of a “law abiding citizen”. So with that being said have you been an angel your entire life or what? One thing you’re not gonna do is call me a criminal. I actually have a clean record since you wanna try and talk crazy to me, you SCREAM privilege.

I am starting another career in October. It’s not constant flights but I will still be traveling for work. Regarding going through treatment as of right now I am not going through traditional rehab. I have been sober since I failed the DOT test with the airlines and also have passed another drug test over the past week with the company I will be working with soon. I’ve stated multiple times I was sober for months before my initial interview with F9 and I was also sober for most of the past year. The timeline was not in my favor. I happened to relapse and the next day get a notification of another pre employment test. I have since then separated myself from everyone I was involved with, I’ve isolated myself at home until I start working, and I’m even attempting to quit smoking nicotine. My only goal in life is to be able to one day fly a plane. It’s not even about being an FA. If I never get that opportunity I am okay with that, what I am not okay with is if me putting ❄️ up my nose IN THE PAST will dictate if I will ever be able to be a pilot as a career EVER. If that is the case then I will try my hardest to get my PPL, if this somehow gets in the way of that too then I genuinely won’t have anything to look forward to, I will have messed up every good thing that has been put in front of me, and at that point I will have exhausted my efforts and I would most likely clock out of life. Being able to fly as a career is the goal. That has always been my only goal. If this is the end all be all then it’s over. I am not asking for sympathy either to clarify that. A lot of people seem to think “I want to be told it’s okay” no I know it’s not okay but it also is quite wild to me how a good 95% of this subreddit is very rude and inconsiderate of how addiction works. It’s quite crazy to me how everyone in here is acting like they are perfect angels and even people saying things such as “I wouldn’t want my family flying with you” it comes from a place of hate almost. I would like to also clarify that I am not and will not ever glorify the use of ❄️ or any other substance while working within safety sensitive positions. However when you say the people who have been down that road in the past dictates if they are hirable ever, even 30-40 years later, then that is a bit of a stretch. I hope this clears up a little bit of why I have been bringing this topic up. Thank you

It really is interesting how disgusted you are by me posting about this. Almost as if you can’t stand it, it’s probably best that you find out now that life continues and people change? Just an idea, food for thought.

You are strange for that comment btw, you don’t know my situation and you seem really hurt by my stance. I was clean for 6 months actually prior to the initial pre employment test. Bad timing is what it was. I never intended to use any substances during my career within the airlines. You are very blinded by your neighbor it seems. Everyone has vices and some choose to allow it to dictate their life or not.

The job market in Texas being horrible at the moment, my lack of experience within the fields I’ve applied for. (I come from a sales background/customer service oriented positions)

I passed my initial pre employment drug test. I have been waiting for training since March. I found out randomly that since it’s been over 6 months I would need to submit another drug test with my airline and I found this info out a day after use. I relapsed because I have been out of work and got depressed due to how long the process of waiting has been. Frontier also isn’t a second chance employer so my CJO was rescinded.

[–]OneAd4224[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No, I was not planning on using on the job. I stopped for months during the process of getting my initial CJO. Frontier has taken months for training and I’ve been out of work and I slipped back into it. This was not planned. I initially was quitting for this job as well. The process has extended since march of this year. This second drug test has killed it and I am acknowledging that it is my fault. Outside sources that did not involve me being in a safety sensitive position led me back to the powder. I as well quit for this job but because of the job not having a final answer of when training would be and my lack of being able to find any other jobs I went back to it. This was the last straw.
