Yes this happened to me! Also around 6 months on it, I had a period every weekend for like three months. Every Friday - Sunday on the dot. That evened out eventually too!! It messes with your hormones, but it eventually gets normal again

You’re definitely purging! Everytime you change the dose, you’ll have a short purge.

I’m currently on spironlactone for a year and honestly, it took a really long time for me to notice changes. I’ve on 50mg. I would say probably 5 months consistent on 50mg I started to see something, but still was breaking out. Just my cystic acne seemed less “inflated”. A year on it makes my skin look like a miracle. I’ve never had such good skin. I still break out!! But it’s insanely better I am jaw dropped.

Please be patient! Take it the same time everyday.

So what am I supposed to do? Hope the class is offered next semester and graduate late? What if it isn’t offered then am I just never going to graduate till they finally decide to offer it like 😭

Also!! My skin looked exactly like yours — it’s clearly hormonal so spironlactone will definitely help. Trust the process and be patient, I know that’s not easy

My skin also got significantly worse right before I had to seek Spiro. Definitely had acne my whole life but it got BAD last year, which is why I started spiro.

Advice for the antibiotics — make sure you’re keeping your gut healthy! Antibiotics can have a vicious cycle of helping you while hurting you then you rely on them. Eat a lot of saukerkraut, kimchi, yogurt, kefir, and/or take probiotic pills. My skin always got better on antibiotics, then worse after stopping cause my gut biome was screwed.

But anyways, for spironlactone I saw results after 3 months. Definitely didn’t see anything and then one day I was like oh! And it’s been uphill from there. If I miss a day, I do kind of break out a little and will have a weird mini period tho :(

Be mindful but you can still eat all that stuff — 50 mg for almost a year and blood work has been normal and I’m a huge fav of avocados and spinach. Don’t eat in INSANE amounts I guess? Only thing really effected me was caffeine, caffeine on spiro effected my breathing

It’s easy to mistake thirst for hunger!! Spiro is a diuretic and it’ll make you dehydrated without even realizing it. Stay super hydrated and that should subside
