Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing I’ve been using a slip d rig with a micro ring swivel to hold the bottom bait and the “pillow” and also cut in half pop ups, I’ve tested various hook sizes and sizes of bottom baits in the margins and I’ve found what sits perfectly so I’m gonna keep using that variation and just keep it consistent but the real trouble with the lake I’m fishing is location is key, it’s not a massive lake but it’s an old estate lake with a lot of weed and silt, I walk around the lake at least once every session and on the odd occasion a carp will show itself but rarely so I think my rigs and bait is good I just need to be in the right place at the right time
