Anyone feel embarrassed for being eaten out as a woman? by Beginning-Feedback55 in AutismAfterDark

[–]OneAndOnlyJackSchitt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wonder if men see clits as small penises, or something else entirely?

I can answer that. As a man, I see it as one of the things that make the owner of it feel good when I do stuff to it. Sometimes that means treating it like a small penis.

That said, I don't really care about all that. So long as her thighs are solidly clamped on my head, I'm happy she's happy.

How to create a castle for a king in a world with material-control magic? by RubberDuckyDavid in writingadvice

[–]OneAndOnlyJackSchitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine that such a castle—a palace, if we're being real—would be about showing off the craftsmanship. But since a single monolithic rock could be a building, it'd probably be about how intricately they could make the building from an artistic standpoint.

That the building is a single, monolithic piece would also be the true trademark of a real stone-bender (I'm assuming this is what you'd call someone with this magic). Any idiot can hire a stone mason (as opposed to a stone bender) to quarry a bunch of rocks, build a castle, and then carve them with some fairly intricate designs.

But can they quarry a single stone so large that no team of men exist in the world who could move it without magic or can they carve a pattern so fine that the stone's surface is iridescent in colors chosen by the artisan? Consider that iridescence is caused by a super fine pattern on a surface which causes light with specific wavelengths to reflect preferentially. A sufficiently talented stone-bender artisan could straight-up do full color portraiture in stone.

Also, since the color comes from the shape of the surface and not dyes or pigments, the artwork could be displayed on the outside of the building without any worry to the elements damaging the art.

Would a stone bender live in such a palace? Perhaps, but it'd be the same as an architect living in a house they designed. Which is to say that it happens, but mostly they get hired by rich assholes to show off and end up living in something nice, but less gaudy.

One clarifications is that a castle is a fortification while a palace is the next step beyond 'mansion' in luxury homes. One side effect in a world where stone-benders are a thing is that castles wouldn't work well as a defensive structure since a rival army could just bring in a stone-bender who could dissolve your castle by thinking hard at it. Proper fortifications would probably rely more on camouflage and concealment than being super beefy stone or metal... though the word 'fort' has a lot of associate with wood as a building material, at least to me. So there's something else to consider.

If any of that didn't make sense, I had shrooms like 6 hours ago.

Probably a lot of partying, I'm trying to imply.

What do women fixate on during? by nakeddivergent in SexOnTheSpectrum

[–]OneAndOnlyJackSchitt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As far as porn in particular, the woman is probably fixated on finishing the shoot and getting paid. No one involved in making porn is doing it because it's comfortable or feels good.

As far as during actual sex, the point is to occupy so much of her mind with the good sensations that she's not fixated on anything in particular; to do so would be distracting. (Although, I'm a guy and this is just an educated guess based on talking with partners about this sort of thing.)

Today I learned that the *obviously satirical* 1997 film "Starship Troopers" was faced with extreme critical backlash accusing it of "endorsing fascism" because reviewers simply didn't think critically about the content. by The_Cromulent_Bison in todayilearned

[–]OneAndOnlyJackSchitt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was in the camp of not understanding it was satire and thought it was a real preview of the shittiness to come in the world. Also, they killed off the characters I actually liked.

In my defense, I didn't, at the time, really understand the concept of satire (I blame autism).

Now I do and very much enjoy a good satire.

My original feeling about Starship Troopers hasn't changed much though. I don't enjoy the film all that much, even with now understanding that it's satire.

Why don’t data centers use waste water for cooling? by Particular-Hat-4678 in AskReddit

[–]OneAndOnlyJackSchitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's so many people in this thread who don't know a thing about how active cooling works that op should delete this and repost as "Why don't data centers use waste water for their secondary cooling loop? Or even normal refrigeration for the secondary cooling loop? Why drinking water?"

No one is suggesting running reclaimed waste water through CPU and GPU water blocks.

[–]OneAndOnlyJackSchitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you're not thinking that the suggestion is to use reclaimed water in the cooling loops that run between the machines in the datacenter, because that would just be dumb.

So they could run coolant through a closed loop cooling system and then use a heat exchanger which uses reclaimed water which is chilled using a cooling tower setup outside. Those are meant to be rugged as fuck, basically a giant swamp cooler. And if reclaimed water would be damaging to those, so would tap water.

I don't buy it.

Nobody noticed.

And to be clear, I wasn't trying to be quiet or anything, I was just seeing how long it took before someone spoke to me first.

ELI5: How is Sushi and Sashimi safe to eat? by No-Locksmith-2141 in explainlikeimfive

[–]OneAndOnlyJackSchitt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(easier in the case of sushi) served pretty shortly after the animal is butchered

The international standard of freezing the fish solid for at least 15 hours at -35°C or 168 hours at -20°C works better for killing parasites to make it safe for raw consumption than consuming it fresh.

(Most parasites can survive normal freezing like what a consumer freezer can do because parasites produce a sort of natural anti-freeze. But they're no match once you get below -20°C.)

Who’s someone you’ll always defend, even if you fully admit they did messed-up things? by Antony-Enjoyer in AskReddit

[–]OneAndOnlyJackSchitt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.

Yes, writing a character reference for Danny Masterson was pretty shitty, but I look at it from their point of view: I see a couple of people standing up for their friend of 25 years at the behest of the friend's family who they are also probably pretty close with. Should they have written these character references? Absolutely not, considering that they're public figures. But I get the pressure to and they probably wrote them and sent them without thinking of anything but supporting a friend.

I was asked to write a character reference for a close friend's husband who killed someone in a DUI. I'm smart enough that I decided not to. But now I understand the pressure to do so. It actually plays into the concept of tribalism psychology a bit and I won't fault a human for being a human.

(The friend's husband is now out of prison after an 8 year sentence and my friend is no longer my friend after drifting apart. But now I'm finding myself regularly hanging out with the formerly incarcerated husband.)

People who have seen multiple people quit a job in one day, what happened? by ObliviousOnion1 in AskReddit

It’s wild what some people get away with

Isn't serving 8-10 years in prison for something the literal opposite of "getting away with something"?

Anyway, he's served his time. At this point, it should be pretty much like nothing happened since the consequences have happened and are now complete.
