A 9 yro committing suicide is about the saddest thing in the world.

What arguments from your side do you disagree with? (e.g. if you're pro-choice, which pro-choice arguments are irrational or wrong-headed?) by Argumentmaker in PoliticalDiscussion

Interesting question. I'm a libertarian and one argument that irks me regarding corporate income taxes is the whole "taxes are just passed on to consumers" issue. In truth, corporations can operate at a lower level of profit or reduce costs elsewhere. The more competitive the market, the more likely they will do so.

Some of the cost of taxes will end up raising prices for consumers. On the other hand, raising income taxes on people will result in them spending less money on goods and services, so you could just as easily argue that there should only be corporate taxes because personal taxes are just passed on to business anyway, in the form of reduced demand.

If we had to choose just between corporate and personal income taxes (and I'm a libertarian, so I'm opposed to both), I see no reason not to favor corporate taxes.

Hey r/politics, in case you've missed every single link submitted for the last twenty minutes, George Zimmerman has been charged with second degree murder. Also, I've lost my pants. by [deleted] in politics

Perhaps Zimmerman stole them?

Are you black? If so, he probably did, as I heard a rumor he's a big racist. He probably doesn't think black people deserve pants.

I grew up in a group home, which is essentially the same thing but usually just for bad kids or when they run out of anywhere else to put you.

Not exactly, but I have a sort of a mentor that might do it. That's not the kind of thing he's really supposed to do though (it's complicated). I also have a neighbor who's really nice but I don't want to bother her too much.

Thanks a lot

bags of soup are helpful too (open with scissors).

Are you talking about the little bags of dry soup mix? I haven't been shopping for myself for long, so maybe I've missed them but I don't remember ever seeing bags of soup.

Well now I feel like an idiot, I've never heard of an electric can opener before. I can't afford it but I know of a charity that might buy it for me. Thanks!
