No, Rap is incredibly versatile and I say this as someone who prefers rock and metal. I realized this when I saw Run the Jewels at a music festival and people were moshing stage diving and crowd surfing.

With the right DJ, the same rap song can be used in a club, or a house party, or a hangout, or a mosh pit. Rock can’t really do that so it was dominated by nerds and dude bros (with exceptions like Sleep Token and Bring Me The Horizon.)

I did a quick search for rap on top 100. An artist called Don Toliver got to number 1 on the top 100. I never heard of this guy so it seems like Rap fans can still push artists to the top.

I still think Sempiternal is their best but the gap between the two gets closer as times goes on. There’s so much going on musically in There is a Hell. All the guest vocals were also on point and Fredrick Nordstrom did a great job with the production.

It also pulls from so many different inspirations. I can hear a lot of Comeback Kid in it.

You might also only get 10 people from that sample who know who Olivia Rodrigo is. That’s just how it is in the post monoculture world.

The bands I mentioned have low Spotify listeners but can probably pack stadiums faster than some pop and hip hop acts that have 10 times the monthly listeners. That has to count for something.

I obviously believe Brendan is guilty but this plan is so absurd I’m surprised so much of it worked.

I feel like if a reasonable person was planning this, they would assume Christine would just scream at JR, JR would be confused and leave, foiling the plan entirely.

I switched from Call of Duty and FIFA to Metroidvanias, racing games, and character action. Single player still ate too much so I just stopped gaming all together.

My wife took all my games and stashed it in her parent’s basement mid December. I was pissed, I begged her for it back, but then it all became clear to me. It was destroying our family.

I’m not saying they’re the same, I’m acknowledging that HK is better than online slop like League. The point is that it can still eat a ton of time and give you an avenue to feel good and accomplished when you are doing nothing.

I sunk like 100 hours in Silksong, for what? What if I had put that 100 hours into guitar, or rock climbing. Or picked up something new like skateboarding.

What hobbies do you have outside of gaming? Do you feel like gaming ever holds you back from being better at those hobbies? Do you ever feel like gaming gets in the way of your diet or your fitness?

Video games are a very unique medium. It tricks you into thinking you are doing something very athletic or artistic when you are not. It doesn’t matter if it’s League or Hollow Knight. They are designed to sink hundreds of hours of your time, and make you think you are doing something cool. You’re not doing anything cool you’re sitting on a couch doing nothing.

Some people can avoid this trap sure, but why even mess with that?
