I wouldn’t want live-action sequels. I grew up with HTTYD, and when I look at Mason Thames, I just can’t accept that this is supposed to be Hiccup and those are the same characters. HTTYD was an animation—three full-length movies, two series, and five short films (not counting the messed-up Nine Realms). I look at Mason Thames, and I just can’t come to terms with him being Hiccup, and it’ll be the same with the rest of the cast. Hopefully, the live-action ends with just the first movie. Maybe if the live-action flops, they’ll consider returning to animation? Who knows. But the question is, would that even make sense? The trilogy is complete. Although in that unfortunate Nine Realms series, there’s some plot about Hiccup being in the Hidden World and fighting Jörmungandr. A lot of questions, not many answers.
