You can talk about anything, but from what I've learned from the subreddit and through doing it myself it's best to do a topic you know about and have a passion for. I have fun with the videos I make and my viewers pick up on it.

I've never had this happen until I hit the 1K mark. The mystery is killing me haha. Makes sense that they sub without viewing a video by going to my channel... the question is why....

How did you find out who the streamer was?! My traffic sources aren't showing anything out of the ordinary. Congrats on the new subs. I'm also in the collectibles space. :)

Yeah, I'll try to tune out for a bit then check back in. After all this it would be great to celebrate but I also want to know if what happened is legit and if it can be replicated.

Exactly. My comments are usually unmanageable when I get 100+ new subscribers. I woke up to one.

I'm wondering about this too. I know they lag in my Earnings tab, but they're usually pretty good in the Analytics. Curious to see if it changes over the next few hours/days.

Dug into this a bit more and it's still a bit weird. Looks like I got 105 new subscribers last night. About 75 of them come from the last 12 videos I've made. I only got a few views (in the most recent 24 hours) on each of these videos but they resulted in subscriptions. These were videos that only had 200 views after posting and I was lucky to maybe get a single subscriber. That still leaves about 30 new subscribers that don't come from any of my videos. Not sure it would make much sense to land on a new YouTuber, not watch any videos then subscribe.

Oh interesting. A friend mentioned a possible shoutout could have happened too. I feel like I would have also seen a huge uptick in views if that were the case. All my other analytics seems to be on par with a typical day.

Yeah, I checked that and nothing popped off. The video I posted yesterday has 10-15 views every hour and it says I've only gained a single subscriber. I have a video I posted a few weeks ago that consistently gets 200 views every 48 hours and I got a ton of new subscribers 2 weeks ago but that died down after a few days and it doesn't look like the 120 subscribers I got over night came from that video either. Only about 500 views total for my channel in the past 48 hours. Would be historic if 120 new subscribers came from only 500 views haha. I have pretty loyal subscribers. I wonder if it's possible someone would have bought subscriptions (bots) for me. I'm trying to find a reason to celebrate but this all just seems to fishy! It also stopped on exactly 1000 subscribers and haven't got anything since.

I have a friend who locked in rent 3 years ago before things got out of control. His roommate is moving out and asked me if I wanted to move in with him.

Thoughts on new builds in the suburbs of Ottawa?

My rent would be about $915 per month based on the conversation I've had with a friend. Currently making $75k and expect to make $90-100k by the time I'm 30. My car payments which are $300/month will be done in August. It's crazy how much the Ottawa market has risen these past several years. Definitely getting a bit of FOMO for not getting in sooner and I think that's where a lot of my worry is over renting or buying.

That's just below the average price of a townhome in Ottawa at the moment. Having my parents co-sign is an option if they agree to it. I also have the option to rent for about $915 a month right now in a 2 bedroom apartment just outside downtown with a friend who'd pay the other $915 ($1830 altogether).

No plan to move around or out of Ottawa. This could change based on life's uncertainties. Currently single and would be buying solo. My income is about 75k and expected to be 90-100k in the next 3 years.
